A Circus with a warm...
Liked: The main advantage of the hotel is its location . Central , close to taxi stand, U stations , main attractions . The breakfast was excellent , with nice cosy decor , good food and coffee. Excellent service with kind attention.
Disliked: I had a room facing the main road , and as is normal for a city like Berlin , the traffic can be busy at times and the vehicle sirens can be a little loud now and then . Anyway , with windows closed I slept well without problem.

Avoid if coming in summer;...
Liked: Room are nicely furnished, are quirky, and well-equipped. And the location of the hotel is top-notch. Directly next to the U-Bahn and tram. But doesn’t detract from all the issues described below.
Disliked: I have mixed feelings about this hotel, but would suggest to others to avoid like a plague, especially in summer. The hotel advertises itself as having “air-conditioning” but don’t expect the usual air- con with a duct so you can actually feel cool air blowing into the room and making a difference to the temperature of the room. Instead, they have this “eco-friendly” air conditioner, with no duct, which apparently cools the room with terracotta tiles in the ceiling. Does it cool the room? NOT AT ALL. Especially in a Berlin summer where temperatures can hit the mid-30s.I was originally put on the top floor (floor 4) and it was absolutely stifling. The reception staff suggested that I leave the room for a couple of hours to allow the room to cool down. But alas, I came back after 4 hours and there was zero difference. (For completeness, I left the room card in the slot to ensure that it would continue running.) And that is not surprising. I was on the top floor with the sun beaming down, so how could those “tiles” in the ceiling actually cool the room? After all… hot air rises. After complaining, I was put into another room. Again, it was warm, but thought I’d leave the air con to do its work for a couple of hours. I noticed that the operator pad on the wall didn’t seem to work, so called reception and they said they would “reset” the system. See attached photo.Anyway, I came back after a few hours, the room was hotter than before, and the new receptionist said that the air con for that particular room was faulty. Great. So they put me into another room. This time, it was on the first floor. It made a big difference and the air con “seemed” to work, and I was OK to live with it for my 5 day trip.I find it ironic that there is this “eco-friendly” air con, when the rooms have a big fan connected to a wall socket, needing to cool the rooms.
