Exceptional

Liked: A lovely comfy bed in a very well appointed room. I liked the tea and coffee and the kettle. Best of all, a hairdryer!
Disliked: Nothing.

Just fine.

Liked: The location was fine. A very pleasant little village. An old building means nothing will be perfect. The pub had a very pretty patio garden for eating outside. A good sized car park. But I feel £10 is a bit steep for a continental breakfast, and, given the price of the room, should have been included. I wasn't sure whether this was to be served in my room, or in a dining room. So I declined breakfast. (Mondays is never a good evening to stay anywhere and I have had a dismal experience elsewhere). It was a place to stay overnight and for that it was just fine.
Disliked: Toiletries = lovely. In the room tea/coffee selection = very boring. Someone needs to clean the windows!

Overnight stay to visit nearby...

Liked: Excellent location.
Disliked: We were in Room 1 and I was kept awake most of the night by a noise that I can only assume was coming from a generator. As we were on the ground floor opposite the beer garden it would have been good to have some sort of net curtain or similar for privacy reasons.

A first class stay.

Liked: This place is a little gem in the Oxfordshire countryside. I have stayed here on several occasions and the standard of cleanliness, comfort and staff friendliness never varies. It is an extremely well run "quaint" country pub serving excellent food and a good selection of beers.
