Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Poorly managed property

Liked: The location is perfect. The beds are very comfortable and the linens are clean. The food and mixed drinks are great.
Disliked: The facility is in disrepair. There are literally shingles off the roof and laying on the ground. The fountain is half dried up. There is garbage all over the property and landscaping is not being maintained. The hallway smells like animal urine. The room had tattered carpet, a missing curtain, a holy curtain, dirty bathroom floor tiles, built up dirt in the corners, a bird's-nest on the balcony with bird crap piled up under it, and peeling wallpaper. Since we were not using the room except to shower and sleep we just stayed. On the freaking last day we woke up to no hot water. They gave me half off of one night to compensate for the water.

Overall, really enjoyed our time,...

Liked: The girl at the Front Desk who checked us in, checked us out AND even took care of a concern at the pool with a family who had their music blaring where a couple of people actually left the pool. One man went to the family, so they turned the music on even louder. But only the girl at the desk went to them to speak with them. Please ensure she is given notice for her service. The restaurant was good, food was ok and we did appreciate the discount. Service was good also, however for breakfast, it showed the woman was a little stressed being on her own.By the way, also one gentlemen in the basement get ourselves and another family towels for the pool. Was VERY helpful and nice, but seemed to be a great addition to your team. Also, we were able to see a bear walking around the property! We sort of stayed a good distance away!!
Disliked: The loft in our room was hot, even with the AC going full blast, still was hot. Couldn't sleep either day upstairs, so I had to sleep on the sofa and chair by the AC. One night, we opened the window and it was cooler outside then in the loft. Also, couple things could be improved, but did not hamper our stay at all.1.) I am sure you are aware, but you have multiple areas on the roof from the pool side that are missing panels2.) The pool waterfall pipe could be done a little better, we had a waterfall at my last property, so could really make a cosmetic difference.3.) Restaurant dinner menu could be cleaned up. This could definitely make a solid impact and create a great atmosphere.4.) I am sure others mentioned this, but one elevator was not working at all during the entire stay. One time, took over 10 minutes on one trip just to go open and down the one elevator working.

Quiet, older large hotel

Liked: Desk staff - She was wonderfully courteous, kind, and helpful.Location - within a couple miles of scenic Big Pocono scenic view, outlets, and a couple restaurants and a Weis, yet hotel was tucked away in quiet locationQuiet Beds were super comfortable.Pool area has a fire pit (bring your own wood)
Disliked: The hotel was a bit older and worn (paint / wallpaper edges or a door sticking) We went in expecting this, so we were not really surprised. Outdoor area maybe was a bit less scenic / pretty than I thought the photos showed, but we still got a few snapshots. All about angles, I guess, you can't see the hoses, etc in the pics.
