The Chateau Grande Hotel

The stay was fine, just...

Liked: Building and grounds were very beautiful.
Disliked: Location is kind of far from everything. Not a great value for what you are paying. One of the main reasons we chose it is for the room service but when we got there they tell us its "in-room dining, not room service" so we had to go pick it up from the restaurant which wasn't a huge inconvenience but it didn't come with silverware or drinks, etc.

Disliked: A little pricey

THE Chateau

Liked: I enjoyed the room and safety of the property. The bed linen smelled fresh and the organic cotton towels were magnificent!
Disliked: I would have preferred to be up a little higher to enjoy the view of the property. I notice that alot when booking from Bookings.com the hotels tend to give you a not so good view. Also, I am not too sure but it seems the smoke detector possibly may have been a camera. (But that's my opinion)

Disliked: Staff at welcome desk upon check in were extremely inflexible. I arrived 15 minutes before 2pm to the hotel and was told that while check-in was at 4pm they could give me complimentary access to the room subject to availability at 2pm. Upon checking a room was available and I asked then to please allow me access as I had a 3pm meeting in Piscataway and needed to change and freshen up to make it to the venue on time. I was told that I would be charged $50 for checking in at 1:45pm vs free access at 2pm. I requested a waiver for the last 15 minutes and was denied. This is a 5 star hotel yet they understand how to retain the loyalty of a high-end customer. Next time I’ll stay at any 4 star hotel for less than half the price with much more flexible rules.

Mixed experience

Liked: My room was clean with a lot of space. The check-in was very fast. The person at the reception desk was positive. All hotel systems worked well. Huge free parking right behind the hotel
Disliked: The hotel does not provide sleepers and it does not have breakfast.
