The Spotlight on The Chamberlain

Classic British Charm Steps from the Stage

Modern comfort meets old-world style at The Chamberlain, a welcoming hotel just north of Tower Bridge. With its traditional pub-style bar, refined restaurant, and cozy rooms, this hotel blends city access with a relaxed atmosphere. Located near iconic sights like the Tower of London and just a short walk from Liverpool Street Station, it's perfectly placed for both sightseeing and live music nights.

Each room features a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, a desk, and tea/coffee-making facilities. Free WiFi throughout ensures you can stream tracks or share your concert pics without a hitch.

Why Concert-goers love it

With Liverpool Street Station just a short walk away, getting to and from gigs across London is a breeze—even late at night. After the show, return to a quieter part of the city where you can actually hear yourself think. The 3:00 PM check-in time allows pre-concert relaxation, and the 11:00 AM check-out means you won’t be rushed the next morning.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends wanting stylish, central digs with a pub downstairs
  • Solo travelers chasing their dream gig
  • Couples making a romantic concert weekend
  • Fans who want a peaceful place to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers looking for value without sacrificing comfort

Food and Drink Options

The on-site pub-style bar serves up fine ales and hearty meals—perfect for a pre-gig bite or late-night snack. The restaurant offers more formal dining in the evening, while breakfast is available the next morning, even after a late night. While there's no 24/7 room service, you'll find plenty of walkable eateries nearby.

Nightlife Options

The hotel’s own bar is a great place to wind down with a pint, and you're within easy reach of trendy East London bars, lounges, and clubs. Whether you’re heading to a live gig or looking to keep the night going, you’re never far from the action.

What People Say

Guests love the friendly staff, clean and quiet rooms, and the traditional-meets-modern vibe. Many reviewers highlight the location as ideal—not too touristy but close to everything. The on-site pub also earns high praise for its food and atmosphere.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention the rooms can be a bit on the smaller side, and the decor is more classic than trendy. There’s no gym or spa, but most concert-goers won’t mind skipping a treadmill session after dancing all night.

The Bottom Line

The Chamberlain is a smart, relaxed base for concert-goers who want easy access to venues, great transport links, and a proper pint after the show.

Lovely! Would book again!

Liked: Great location for tube, lovely comfortable nicely decorated clean rooms! The staff were all very friendly
Disliked: The only fault was the shower as it wasn't powerful at all for such a lovely bathroom and walk in shower you would expect it to be more powerful. I also think breakfast just half an hour extended to 10:30 would be good, we saw a lot come down at quarter to like us and even later.

Very good

Liked: The most comfortable bed I ever slept on, beautiful renovated room compared to last year, delicious breakfast and dinner, good music in the evenings, everything I needed in my room.
Disliked: The bed was very high. One of the towels was stained badly, so I didn't use it. Also, extremely pricey, compared to other cities I visited. Fire alarm on one evening, which turned out to be false (luckily), so I was having trouble falling asleep that night.

Very good

Liked: I have been staying at this hotel several times and I am always quite satisfied. They had a recent refurbishment and it looks very good. It's very convenient especially if you are arriving at City Airport or Liverpool Street station and in general it is very well connected to the rest of London but also in a quiet spot. Staff all very nice and hardworking. Breakfast is very rich and diverse, catering for all tastes. Definitely my fav place to stay in London.
Disliked: I personally don't like when the room's windows cannot be open but I guess many guests will not mind.

Would stay again for sure!...

Liked: Its a small boutique hotel next to the Tower Bridge, not too far from the Elizabeth Line. But the real deal with this hotel is that the rooms are 5 star worthy. High beds and very comfortable and plush. Also, everything in the room is complimentary! The rooms looked fresh and bougie to be honest for half the price of a 5 star hotel. The staff were amazing too, I got to the hotel earlier than check in but the room wasn’t ready yet (expectedly), so I sat down for a bit.. few minutes later the guy who spoke French at the front desk came to me and told me that there’s a room ready and offered me the early check in. The room however was hot and the ac wasnt working, so Sameera from front desk looked for other rooms that she can transfer me… and I got upgraded to a bigger room and she was very apologetic about it. Not every hotel offers to move you to another room, let alone a better room so thumbs up to them! I would definitely stay again
Disliked: It might be just me but I thought the breakfast was a bit bland. It’s an easy fix though.
