Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

It was an entirely satisfactory...

Liked: The staff were most helpful and pleasant. The room was reasonable, though there was no view and if I'd had to spend much time in it, it would have been rather depressing.
Disliked: What really lets the hotel down is the condition of the exterior. Scuffed paintwork, some rotton timber in door and window frames, discoloured render on the walls, a large rubbish skip in a prominent position, overgrown garden areas and last autumn's leaves still on the ground in mid-April. It makes the hotel look tired and uncared-for; which, considering the good condition of the interior, the helpfulness of the staff and the good food, is a real shame.

location great but we won’t...

Liked: location excellent
Disliked: our friends were put in an obvious ‘overflow’ room with paint peeling, very badly marked bath and a tiny bed. when they complained were just told ‘we’re full’

Nice but run down.

Liked: I love the spectacular views of the Bannau Brycheiniog.
Disliked: The place is tired, and the expected upgrade has been postponed. The same notice is in the rooms that were in them when I was last there 8 months ago.

Good budget option

Liked: Good location, friendly staff, great breakfast!
Disliked: Looked like there was black mould on the wall and the room we were in was in the attic, so you couldn’t stand up while having a shower etc.
