Ok for a nights stay....

Liked: Breakfast was fine. Staff a little chilly at breakfast especially an older man serving who didnt acknowledge us at all.. The young man who booked us in was really chatty helpful and friendly. Comfortable bed.
Disliked: The bathroom had no toilet roll holder.Didn't like the unfriendly older man serving breakfast

We enjoyed our stay apart...

Liked: Help & friendliness of staff. Location. Relaxed feeling and calm atmosphere. Chef kindly made scrambled eggs instead of poached and our request for runny porridge
Disliked: Fresh fruit choice at breakfast was limited. Dead house plant in bedroom, kettle not emptied from previous occupant. Dressing table cupboards& bedside tables lacked handles. Bathroom toilet roll holder missing, toilet paper very poor quality and no plug in basin

Excellent venue

Liked: We arrived early but we're given use of a room to freshen up and change for our appointment. Restaurant booking made without any issue, & a big shout out for the Head Waiter who provided us with excellent service & a good sense of humour. Shame the weather wasn't good enough for a bit of alfresco dining as the garden and outdoor seating areas looked delightful.Would definitely recommend 5*

Liked: Took dogs. Bathroom had huge bath and separate shower. Dogs were provided with a dog hamper
Disliked: Room and bedding to hot. The door that when downstairs was locked at 11.30 pm until 7.30am[8am at weekend]. We were not informed about this. Found this out when our dog needed to go out. After waiting and looking around found the fire exit had a push button exit. Got out but door code to get back in which we didn't have. Breakfast was quoted as £15 per person. When paying from breakfasts had to pay for items ordered individually and had to pay for tea and coffee.

Fabulous Place, which I used...

Liked: My Compliments to the Chef. The Breakfast every day was exceptional and the Evening Meals were all outstanding. I was sad to leave the Carpenters Arms. The staff were so helpful, warm and friendly, they really made my stay amazing. Thank you Everyone at this wonderful place.
Disliked: I loved everything about my stay at the Carpenters Arms.
