Comfortable, friendly, homely hotel conveniently...

Liked: Room was comfortable; location good for visiting Canterbury. Great breakfast. Staff very friendly and helpful.
Disliked: In room television is very small and DVD player didn't work. Window latch was missing so had to wedge window with towel. Bed is only 4'6" (but comfortable); today one expects 5' or more.

Liked: The room was a good size, comfortable and clean. The swimming pool - though small - was a nice bonus and we had it to ourselves. Staff very helpful. Nice bar area. A good location- but may be too far out of the centre for some - about a 20 minute walk.

Disappointing stay in Canterbury Hotel

Liked: The hotel was well placed for a 20 min walk into the centre of town. The staff we met were very professional and helpful. Rooms and beds comfortable. Lovely courtyard garden
Disliked: We stayed 2 nights. Our room wasn't cleaned nor the bed made,bins weren't emptied Bathroom wasn't cleaned etc while we were staying there. We went out at 8.30am and were back at 5ish. TV didn't have all channels and worse for us no radio, being R4 junkies!!! Showerhead needs a good soaking in lime scale remover or replacing. Also a rail/ handle is needed to help get in and out of the bath if like me you have arthritis.

Great Value, Great Location!

Liked: Great sized room, comfortable bed and a swimming pool, friendly helpful staff and breakfast was excellent.
Disliked: The only slight issue I could see was the curtains weren't hung properly so a little bit of light was still coming through, other than that great value for money!

Liked: The staff were friendly and helpful. Beds comfortable. Good breakfast. Bathroom modern shower good. Parking was available. Good location.
Disliked: Room was really hot which didn’t help us sleep.. Net curtain had a big rip in it.

Very disappointing and rude member...

Disliked: Location was poor, a particular male member of staff was rude and not helpful and tried to charge us a £100 fine for not registering our car details the morning after we arrived after he and had an issue with the parking. We explained that we telephoned twice before arriving the night before advising that we needed a parking space and were not told either then or on arrival that we needed to register our car number plate, when we arrived late at night, after a huge delay on the M25 following a fatality on the motorway. Room was shabby, poor facilities and breakfast was just adequate. Very disappointing - would not stay again.
