Liked: Great location and I met really nice people.
Disliked: The bar downstairs is open until midnight on Wed, 1am on Thursday and 3 am on Friday. If a very noisy on the 1st floor. If you’re young and like to party, it’s a great place to stay. Not so great if you need sleep. Apparently the 2nd floor isn’t as noisy. I’m still glad I stayed though.

Liked: Because of an understanding receptionist in the morning, I was able to move to the other Cambie hostel location, as I’m very allergic to cats.
Disliked: I somehow missed the memo about having two cats living on the first floor of this hostel. If I had known about this, I would not have booked a reservation here at all. On top of that everything is black and hard to see if it’s dirty or clean. The downstairs pub is very popular with college age people and is very noisy. For any room that you use they have three keys: front door, women’s bathroom, and the room key. They’re not all labeled.

Liked: The location was good though it wasn’t as close as I wanted to be to my final destination, the Dragon boat race site.
Disliked: it was really noisy, even though it was 11:30 PM. When I arrived, there was one girl ahead of me, checking in and it took forever, then when it was my turn, the front desk told me to wait 10 minutes because he had to do some cash out stuff. Half an hour later there was a shift change, and the new guy was really rude, took his time and giving me his attention to check me in. He had me in a room on the first floor, which has two cats living there. I told him I’m allergic to cats and that wouldn’t work. After a lot of finagling, apparently he was able to put me into a second floor dorm room with three males. As it was now past midnight, there was one fellow already in the room sleeping and two unoccupied bunks. Sometime in the middle of the night two other guys showed up. Luckily none of them snored! At 6 AM two of the guys checked out and a little later the third guy checked out. Unfortunately as I was checking out, I realize I was getting an allergic reaction even though there were no cats on the second floor. I had to cancel the remaining days I had I reserved and was already charged for two nights. The front desk woman was really understanding and very efficient. She was able to rebook me at the other Cambie hostel location, which has no cats. She was also able to refund what I was charged, but unable to use.Thank you, Vika!

Liked: The hostel was nice, clean, very well located and the most affordable stay I could find in the city
Disliked: I think it would be good to put curtains on the rooms, as they are a little small
