Liked: The staff were absolutely amazing. Especially Sarah. Sarah really is a credit to Greene King. That lass is phenomenal
Disliked: The usual Greene King downsides: staff rushing around trying to do everything when GK should hire more people. Plus shortages in the food deliveries meaning the staff have to explain the depleted menu to customers.

Liked: - Staff are FAB! Receptionist lady was lovely and the restaurant staff were lovely too. - Room and bathroom were a good size. - Room was super clean - no bedbugs and everything looked clean. - Comfy bed and good pillows. I had a good night's sleep. - Tea and coffee in room, iron and board and a hair dryer. - Location- right in the centre of town with an onsite car park. - onsite restaurant- I had a great breakfast. - There's a free breakfast included in the room rate I had. Breakfast on weekdays was 7am to 9am. - Overall good value for money - better than many local Airbnbs I saw advertised. - TV was big and had lots of Freeview channels, very useful. - Good security- no one (from the street or bar) can just walk up to the rooms, which was a concern of mine. I felt safe at all times. - I would definitely recommend the hotel for short stays.
Disliked: - Be aware that there's no lift to the 2nd floor rooms. Not a major problem, and it's clearly listed on the hotel info as not having a lift, so I missed that and it's my own fault. Good to be aware for people with lots/heavy luggage. - There's no air con in the room, the windows can be opened a bit but not fully. It was humid at times. - It was quite noisy with bedroom doors slamming very early in the morning by other guests going out/in on my first day. There's nothing the hotel could do, but good to be aware if you're a light sleeper. - The shower pressure is very low - it's not a power shower. Still doable though. I gave the hotel a 7 for the above - I'd have given it a 7.5 if I could and would still recommend the hotel, as the above were only minor issues. The room itself was decorated well, the bed was comfy and I did get a good night's sleep there. All key things needed for a few nights - clean and comfy bed, bathroom, that's all I needed.

Lovely staff

Liked: Our food was good however those that had the Sunday roast were very disappointed with the quality. The breakfast is excellent and the morning dining manager was delightful.
Disliked: Beds uncomfortable and roast is hit and miss depending on the chef
