Great property but staff need...

Liked: Great location Great building
Disliked: Unhelpful staff at reception desk and in room dining call dispatchers

A bit like a school...

Liked: Great location and heritage.
Disliked: It feels a bit tired, perhaps has lost its edge a little. Lacks a bit of spirit or something, a bit soulless.

Liked: Location was central which was great.The actual building was beautiful from the inside, room was fairly spacious.
Disliked: Breakfast and room service food was not up to standard, we paid for a rate that included breakfast but had breakfast outside for the rest of our stay after trying the hotel breakfast on our first morning. Our bedroom bathroom was so small and the complimentary amenities were limited to just handwash and body cream, shampoo conditioner no other personal care items and no rubbish bin plastic liner placed in the bathroom bin through out all of our stay and no rubbish bin placed in the bedroom, for a room that costs 585 GBP a night I would expect or a more luxury 5 star service.

Liked: The staff are friendly, the room is spacious and overlooks the castle, and the hotel is in a great location.

A very enjoyable stay.

Liked: The breakfast was very nice. I used the gym pool and spa facilities which were all very nice.
Disliked: My window view was obscured because of bad view.

Disliked: Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing. On the first night, there was a serious plumbing issue in our bathroom, and we were told we had to move rooms. Our belongings were moved to another room without our consent, which was upsetting and unprofessional.The elevator was very old and slow, and we often had to wait a long time for it. Also, housekeeping did not clean our room daily, which we expected from a hotel of this level.Most of the staff were not particularly friendly or welcoming. There was no apology or gesture of goodwill regarding the first-night incident, which left us with a bad impression.Overall, I would not recommend this hotel based on our experience.

An Exceptional Stay That Touched...

Liked: I took my family to this marvelous hotel for three nights, and everything about it exceeded my expectations. The rooms were beautiful and impeccably clean, but what truly stood out was the warmth and professionalism of the entire teamfrom the concierge and receptionists to housekeeping.One evening, my son fell ill, and the kindness shown by the hotel staff moved me deeply. A receptionist (whose name I, unfortunately, can’t recall) arranged transportation for us to the hospital and even more incredibly, the hotel covered the cost. She checked on us the next day with genuine care and concern. That level of empathy and service is something I will never forget.This experience left a lasting impression on our family, and we will definitely be returning. Thank you for making our stay not only comfortable but truly meaningful.
