The Spotlight on The Buxton

Stylish Shoreditch Stay with a Local Vibe

Modern, cozy, and full of character, The Buxton is a boutique hotel perfectly placed in London’s vibrant East End. Nestled just off Brick Lane, this intimate spot offers a relaxed base with a hint of hipster charm. From its sleek on-site bar to its rooftop terrace, it’s a great mix of comfort and community.

Walkable to Shoreditch’s best live music venues and within easy reach of Tower Bridge and the Sky Garden, The Buxton offers the ideal blend of location and local flavor.

Why Concert-goers love it

With Brick Lane just around the corner and Shoreditch’s legendary venues a short stroll away, The Buxton is a dream for music fans. The area’s well-connected public transport makes getting to gigs across the city a breeze, and late-night options mean you won't be stranded after the encore. Though centrally located, the boutique size of the hotel helps keep things peaceful once you're ready to wind down. Check-in starts at 15:00 and check-out isn’t until 11:00, giving you a bit of breathing room after a late night out.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a trendy base in East London
  • Solo travelers chasing bucket-list gigs
  • Couples making a weekend of it
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want style

Food and Drink Options

The Buxton’s street-level restaurant and bar is a cozy spot for dinner or cocktails before a show. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the kitchen offers tasty, seasonal plates and a great range of local drinks. The surrounding streets are full of late-night eateries – from curry houses to artisan pizza joints – making it easy to grab a bite after the encore. Breakfast is served, too, so you won’t miss out even if you sleep in.

Nightlife Options

With Shoreditch just a few minutes away, you’re spoiled for choice when it comes to nightlife. From rooftop bars to underground clubs, the area pulses with energy. Back at the hotel, the bar is a mellow place to recap the night over a craft beer or two. While there’s no live music on-site, you're never far from the action.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, stylish design, and the neighborhood feel of the place. Many highlight the location as a major plus – close to everything, yet tucked away enough to sleep soundly. Reviewers also love the food, especially the seasonal menus and quality cocktails.

Areas for Improvement

The rooms are on the smaller side, which is typical for boutique hotels in London. If you’re packing for a longer trip or traveling with lots of gear, just be prepared to get a bit cozy. Also, while the vibe is hip and welcoming, those looking for luxury amenities (like gyms or spas) might find the offerings a bit minimal.

The Bottom Line

If you're heading to East London for a concert and want a stylish, well-located place to crash, The Buxton ticks all the right boxes.

Short but sweet

Liked: Breakfast and staff were great, location - really good, hip Brick Lane full of cool shops, cafes and restaurants, walking distance to the metro, market and tesco. Very diverse and pedestrian friendly. For the guest of the hotel there is a great rooftop terrace available with the view of the city.
Disliked: Soundproofing could be better, but didn't interfere with our sleep, even though we were on a low floor. Bathroom is very small and basic, but adequate.

Perfect location in a pub/hotel

Liked: Very cute room, with period features Shower was great, bed comfortable and the hotel staff were very friendly. Good location on Brick lane and close to Aldgate East tube station . Can be a little noisy outside but hotel provided earplugs!

Superb

Liked: Excellent location, with updated rooms and a delicious breakfast. Really charming place that feels off the beaten path while being super well connected (just a 3 minute walk to the tube!). For the location and the comfy beds I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
Disliked: The manager (or owner?) was a bit rude with some of the staff. It made hanging out downstairs in the bar uncomfortable when I arrived and wanted to grab a bite to eat.

Cosy but noisy

Liked: I did not realize it had a pub downstairs that stays open till quite late hence I had a little bit of a hard time going to sleep. Breakfast also started rather late so probably not the best fit for someone who is an early sleeper and early riser.

Something a bit different but...

Liked: The room was super cute, decorated really nicely and the roof top was my favourite! Being on the top floor and having all those stairs were the only think that was a bit annoying with bags ect but would definitely stay here again. Oh also the bathroom was kinda odd! You would see through the door and not very romantic with a partner watching them use the toilet. Over all a great stay though. Staff were all really happy and friendly Thanks
