Glad it was only 1...

Liked: Location, across the road from beach. Friendly staff. Nice food in the bar
Disliked: Broken down lift. Tired room with very tired furniture and carpets. Felt like a bed sit more than a hotel room. Room smelled musty and of cigarette smoke. Flimsy walls, could hear next door playing music late and other things (urgh!!). Dirty windows and sills, heavy sash windows that have to be propped up with something to stay open, dirty hallway carpet. No hairdryer in room. Tired bathroom and flooring. Breakfast left outside the room on the floor in a brown paper bag, not very appealing. Such a shame as it could be lovely with a bit of TLC. The staff are very nice and very helpful though!!

Give them a go, good...

Liked: Check in was simple and straightforward, I was a little disappointed that it was explained that due to covid we would get a continental breakfast delivered to our room door as the kitchen was closed, no fault of the hotel although Booking.com need to update there hotel descriptions. The room was comfortable and spacious, although one of the windows in the room didnt close which was a problem owing to noisy seagulls at 4am.
Disliked: Booking.com misinformation (not the first time this has happened) and the window not closing properly, this is ok during the summer but not great in winter.

Liked: The location of the hotel is perfect and the staff were really helpful when required. They really have things in place to deal with Covid-19.
Disliked: The downstairs of the hotel was lovely but when we got to our family room on the 2nd floor we were disappointed as the room was badly in need of a refurbishment. The paintwork was significantly marked, the window frame peeling and the carpet threadbare in places. The bathroom whilst totally functional could just have done with a bit of an upgrade given the price we paid.

Pleasant enough but curtains in...

Liked: Good continental breakfast provided to room each morning Clean bathroom Good shower Excellent position on seafront Large room
Disliked: No curtains in room 306- just a blind that had gaps in it so the sun flooded the room from 6am waking up my daughter (and hence also me!). Room was also very hot in the evening as if you opened windows at night traffic noise disturbed my daughter and wind made blind bang against window. Don?t know if a lack of curtains is also the case for the other rooms of course.

Liked: Quiet room, very clean and comfortable.
Disliked: Was not told breakfast would be in a bag left at door until arrival, bar closed at 2100.
