The Burlington Hotel

This hotel reminds you of Fawlty Towers. It's very dated. Unfortunately our stay was not the most comfortable as there were springs sticking up in the bed. Luckily with the warm temperatures we were OK sleeping on top of the duvets. The rooms have everything you need. Tea/coffee, towels, soap etc however there were several cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and above the doors. On arrival we asked about the food service and were told the restaurant opened at 6.30pm. We were never told that you had to order your evening meal at breakfast time (not quite sure how this works if check in is at 2pm); needless to say we did not have an evening meal as we were told when asking for a menu during the day that it was "too late to order"; I only went down for breakfast on the second day, and sadly it was awful - eggs not cooked properly, bacon that had clearly been sat for a while and the toast was like rubber. It's such a shame as the staff were all really lovely and welcoming, but this hotel is outdated and my personal experience was not a good one.

Liked: The staff where nice but the hotel is a disgrace filthy dark dingy wall paper falling off with damp the whole place stunk fusty bedding was frayed and washed so many times it had faded badly ,carpets where disgusting dirt and stains everywhere you look , needs a massive re turn or closing .

Disliked: Didn't like the shower because there was no curtain and the shower head was fixed on the wall level to the taps meaning one had to sit down in the bath to have a shower, also there were some people bonking from 1am to 5am I must say I admire there stamina but it was annoying and one couldn't get to sleep should've had sound proofing walls., in my younger days I would've joined in but these days I need my beauty sleep

Liked: Very close to town and a little shop
Disliked: Very unwelcome when arrived! Just pointed in directions of things, room needed major update cups in bathroom was dirty and needed a hoover

Liked: convenient 10-15 min walk to sea front and town
Disliked: breakfast could be earlier for me personally no lifts I'm afraid, but ok for me
