Disliked: We did not stay although we had paid for two days in full. We arrived during the afternoon of 17 April to find the door to the accommodation closed and nobody responded to the bell. We waited and waited and eventually a young girl came and opened the door. She could not check us in as she didn't know how to so she was going to contact her boss who was at another venue. Eventually someone arrived and asked us to pay £225 in payment for our room. We were quite alarmed to hear after this that we would have to go to another pub down the hill for breakfast each morning. We are both in our mid 70's and this was not ideal for our morning breakfast. We were then shown to our room. In our confirmation from Booking.com it clearly states that the room is a deluxe twin bed room, with view, carpeted, wardrobe or closet/ The room we were given was very spartan, no comfort, it had a view of the bins and the steps to the pub cellar, no carpeting and two hangers on a temporary hook on the back of the door, clearly not complying with the description in our confirmation email. I did not want to use the toilet either! I went down to talk to I think the person who was the proprietor or manager and asked if we could have another room as this was not what we had expected. He was very insistent that because I had washed my hands in the bathroom (ie used the bathroom) this was not possible, he was very offhand and frankly insulting asking me what I expected from an B &B. I was very shaken and tearful, my husband and I decided we could not stay under these circumstances and feeling so intimidated and left without using the room apart from washing my hands! We are really upset about the whole experience, we had come to visit our family, our grandchildren and did not expect to be treated in this way by the Bulls Head.

Liked: A lovely breakfast each morning. Amazing staff. So kind and friendly. This really is an amazing place to stay. I am a regular visitor. I have family in the area and it just works. Lesley and all the staff are just brilliant.
Disliked: There is absolutely nothing I dislike!
