Quirky and pleasant. There were...

Liked: Relaxed attitude and friendliness of both staff and customers. Quirky twin room that has a wall between the beds, so each of use had a semi-private space, and switching on the light for one bed does not affect much the sleeper in the other bed.The various beers tried were well kept and fairly good. Our room was so far to the rear of the inn that we had no issues with noise from the bar.Hot water supply appeared to be independent of central heating. And the shower used a local electric heater, so that was warm in seconds. The car park was large enough that we never had to hunt for a parking space. There were value for money meals available in the evenings, and plenty of space in the bar or "restaurant" area to eat them.On Thursday evening at the rear, there were pizza and fish and chips stalls.Wifi was good in areas that it covered. For us (average adult weights for our heights) the mattresses were comfortable (no back stiffness in the morning).
Disliked: Central heating was inconsistent - On lots in some 24 hour periods, but for other days on at weird hours (e.g. only late morning and after mid-night on some nights) - no obvious connection with outdoor temperature. (We were nevertheless fairly comfortable during some cool nights in early April, as the duvets were thick and warm). Some of the cupboards and drawers were either damaged or very difficult to access.Wifi coverage did not stretch as far as room 5 (the twin room occupied), which was at the far rear of the inn. (From room 5, one could register with the wifi, but could not access websites with it.) Had to go down the corridor towards the staircase to use the wifi. The mattresses were so soft that one imagines this could be an issue for some guests.
