The quality of the hotel and room was comfortable and relaxing. The restaurant was full - we found the service at the bar for food, to be what one would expect at a restaurant. Food - well presented and delicious. I would recommend parking cars close to the hotel for ease of access and security / larger quilt on the double bed / full length mirror in room. Most definitely will stay here again and have recommended to friends.
Liked: Every staff member provided excellent customer service at just the right level of efficiency and friendliness.
Disliked: Clear directions on the website to warn people of the one way system - not so easy to get to for a motorist unfamiliar with the town.

Liked: Great location very helpful staff My husband is a coeliac and they had a good breakfast selection. Room bit small but clean and lovely shower
Disliked: Where the TV was placed to the left of the bed was a bit awkward

Liked: Bar food on Saturday night was good.Evening reception staff (the male one) was kind enough to bandage my hand after I got knocked over by a bike on the pavement. Both rooms allocated to me were comfortable and clean but see below.
Disliked: First room (143) was above the kitchens and the whole corridor was hot (I heard another person complaining to his friend ) so it wasn't just me who thought so. I felt sorry for anyone who put up with it.I was given another room (174). This was better but the towel rail could not be turned off even when I turned all the lights off. The air in both rooms blew out ambient air not cooled air.The restaurant was closed for private events on both nights. There was no real ale in the bar. This was a bonus as it happened as Weatherspoons was next door! Maybe that's why there was no real ale as they would never compete on price. The car park was difficult to find. The hotel postcode would entail driving up a one -way street. The reception gave me another postcode which referred to Fitzherbert Street. That was blocked off to traffic just before the junction with Broadway which is where the car park entrance really is. Directions should be made clearer on this point.

Liked: The room was excellent; very clean and comfortable. However we had the window open overnight and as it was Saturday it was quite noisy outside which meant intermittent sleeping. If we had known about this a rear facing room would probably have been quieter. Breakfast was excellent; the summer fruits (strawberries, currants & blackberries in juice) delicious. The location was good being in the city centre, but see foregoing comment.
Disliked: Room above the high street was noisy. A rear facing room would have been better.

Liked: The room was opposite a kitchen vent which was extremely noisy. We asked to be moved so we were put in the room opposite. We spent the remainder of the night over the entrance at the back of the hotel listening to everyone coming back-we didn?t get much sleep
Disliked: No air con but with the window open it was very noisy
