Rooms come with flat-screen TVs, luxury toiletries, and free Wi-Fi, and some offer large beds and freestanding baths for that extra touch of indulgence. Complimentary parking is available at the nearby William Cecil Hotel, making arrival stress-free.

Why Concert-goers love it

This inn’s central location means you’re within easy reach of Stamford’s bars and music venues, while still enjoying a peaceful night's rest in a quieter part of town. After a late gig, you’ll love the option of a flexible check-in from 15:00 and a relaxed check-out at 11:30. Plus, being just a short walk from the Burghley Estate makes it a scenic stopover for music fans attending open-air events or festivals.

What People Say

Guests rave about the inn’s unique blend of history and style, with many complimenting the friendly staff, excellent food, and quirky, character-filled rooms. The quiet yet central location is a hit with those wanting to wind down after an evening out.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that the historic structure means creaky floors or lower ceilings in a few rooms – part of the charm, but worth knowing. Also, parking is off-site (though free and nearby), which might require a few extra steps.

The Bottom Line

A character-rich and cozy base in Stamford that’s perfect for concert-goers who want charm, comfort, and convenience all in one.

Really welcoming and enjoyable.

Liked: Lovely surroundings and very nice bedroom. Full of character. Great big comfy bed. Staff were very nice and helpful. Food was great as well.
Disliked: Nothing really. Had to park 200 yards away but it was free.

Perfect

Liked: Beautiful large room. The bed and linen were so comfortable.Lovely location and the outside space was so comfortable
Disliked: Only negatives - whilst the lighting set the atmosphere for the room and it really did. It wasn't ideal for doing makeup, hair etc. So I would move the radio and maybe put a lamp there for the ladies. Only other problem was the shower had a constant drip and when you got in it and used the rain shower it came out in a few other places. I'd still give this room 9.5 out of 10!

Excellent comfortable historic pub ....

Liked: Except breakfast and dinner. Cosy, comfortable room. Thoughtful/helpful touches - local information and brochures, good tea/coffee in room. Soft towels, hairdryer. Nicely furnished Loved the four poster bed . Friendly, efficient staff.
Disliked: Bath in bedroom- not ideal but understandable given room configuration. Ok for one night.

Perfect night would return in...

Liked: Lovely building with nice garden . Live music was a real bonus with lovely bar and atmosphere . Breakfast was exceptional . Really friendly staff and great location to get into the town
Disliked: Slightly dark room as you need to close curtains in front as people can see in but literally that’s only small thing overall delightful and would return

Superb

Liked: The room was comfortable and clean. The pub was lovely and the food and wine first rate. The building exudes history and has a comfortable character. We would definitely stay again.
Disliked: A minor issue with the toilet. It operates via a macerator and it perhaps needs some attention. That was not enough to dampen our enjoyment of a lovely property though.
