Disliked: Being met at the entrance with a locked door and when opened by as chap full of tattoos. Not a got start to our experience.Will say more on Trip Adviser.

Disliked: Room did not meet expectations and was a bit downmarket. Have to walk down dingy side passage of building to access hotel bedrooms. Noisy at night and bedroom door rattled whenever other guests used front door. Glass bathroom door combined with automatic bathroom lighting meant bedroom was flooded with light when the bathroom was used at night. Solid door would have resolved this. No shampoo or conditioner provided in bathroom.

Liked: The breakfasts were good and the staff friendly and helpful.
Disliked: The hotel writes "To help us maintain our high standards" and "Deluxe King Room", but what exactly were the "high standards" and how could something so very very ordinary be described as "deluxe"? I'm a little mystified.The hotel could start by checking that everything in the room works. Does the maid ever check for light-bulbs that might need changing?There was an odd musty/damp smell in the bathroom (had something died behind the shower wall?). The landing doors are without dampers (bang - slam - crash) and all the creeky floorboards (nasty old property that needs a lot of work) made for a lot of noise.You list the following facilities:- City view (I had a view over a messy - slum like - back-yard), certainly NOT a city view.- Slippers?! Where were they?- Satellite channels/ Cable channels. As far as I could ascertain, there were only basic tv channels. The breakfasts were good and the staff friendly and helpful, but none of this would tempt me back. Sorry!
