Ideal for attending concert event at Colston Hall and the Hippodrome. The added bonus of free parking and location near to the quay made it all the better. The quality of the room and the hotel in general was of a high standard and I would definitely stay there again when I next visit Bristol.

Liked: Great location; comfortable room; clean and well equipped; helpful staff; excellent value for money.

3rd worst hotel experience of...

Liked: Room, sheets, towels were clean. Bar/breakfast staff were friendly (I didn't eat breakfast on prem. Almost 17gbp if you can't find it written anywhere).
Disliked: When I checked in I had just arrived in Bristol from Isle of Wight, catching the ferry and unable to escape screaming children on the trip, then getting crammed into my train seat and having my suitcase stuck behind bikes that shouldn't have been on that carriage at Bath Spa station. This resulted in having to lift it up and over, spraining my bicep in the process. I figured having stayed in 3 star places up until then I'd pay (a lot) more for a 4star place which would hopefully have a comfy room. My room was on floor 4. I put my bags down and unpacked and was greeted by what sounded like an unbalanced washing machine rumbling throughout the room. I went into the hall where the sound was worse and discovered the gym, with someone running on the treadmill. Strange that on the pre check in page I filled out there is an option for fitness as an interest. I didn't have this option checked. I challenge anyone to try and relax with that going on. Noise cancelling headphones didn't help as it reverberated the whole room. That went on for 30min. And after about 5min, another person started up on the machine for another 30min or so. Before anyone says why didn't you just ask for a different room, I don't do this if I'm solo as a point of principle. Yes, I'm stubborn. I (actually anyone really) shouldn't have to do this if the hotel is doing its job, especially at this tier. Given the attitude I saw later I figure they'd just try putting me up in a room on the same floor (same issue). When I finally thought I had some time of quiet the TV of the adjacent room started up. Again, headphones didn't fully cut out the vocal channel getting through what must have been a paper thin wall behind the TV. This went on for another 4 hours until about 10pm. I wasn't in a good frame of mind and wasn't able to sort out dinner plans as I had hoped. The hot shower I was dreaming of and which my bicep needed was not able to get hot enough.
