Staying at a Sonder property...

Liked: There was no breakfast
Disliked: While the facilities themselves were unproblematic, the reservation and payment processes were. My reservation disappeared from Sonder's app even after I completed their pre-check in process of verifying my identification and utilizing their convoluted system to scan my face in their app, and spent several hours in total on the phone trying to explain why this was an issue and that my reservation had been viewable previously. I had to call again when I did not get check in instructions 24 hrs before check in. When I needed to update the credit card being used, Sonder said that because I was not charged at time of booking, I could add new payment method in booking.com (which I did), only to find out Sonder HAD charged me at time of booking and would not refund the original card and process payment on the new one. I was unable to be reimbursed by my employer because of this and will likely not book a Sonder property ever again.

Probably won't stay here again....

Liked: There was no elevator. There was no fitness center and laundry services in the building.
Disliked: Location.

Liked: Modern functional room, although quirky - it was like a bedsit and there was no wash basin in the toilet cubicle.
Disliked: Lousy customer service:I requested a quiet room well in advance of my stay (several months in fact). When I arrived at the hotel I found I was given a room at street level next to the front door - possibly the noisiest room in the hotel. The banging shut of this automatic door made it impossible to stay asleep after 6am. I find it difficult to believe that Sonder couldn't have made more effort to allocate me a quieter room.When I tried to contact the hotel staff to change the room, I got either 'We can't find your reservation' or 'Oops something went wrong' (using either the Sonder app or the Sonder web page to send a message because this hotel did not have a physical reception. Both methods failed consistently - so frustrating). When I tried to call the hotel staff, no human answered the phone (I waited for 5 minutes, but that was enough when paying roaming charges). A couple of days later when I did eventually reach a human, I was told that the reservation system at that time was having problems. The hotel was unable to change my room for a quieter one. I will never stay with Sonder again.

Liked: Excellent location in Capitol Hill. Easy check in. Room was very comfortable with great amenities. They even have bike storage! My only qualm was being on the 6th floor without an elevator, but hey, it was good for my glutes!
Disliked: N/A

Excellent location, comfy bed, modern...

Liked: The location can’t be beat and the building itself is really cool. I also loved not having a room key and using a code to enter the building and my room.
Disliked: The room is a bit tiny; if there were more than one person in a room, I think you’d be stepping on each other the entire time.
