The Spotlight on The Boxer Hotel

Historic Charm Meets Modern Comfort in Boston’s Music District

The Boxer Hotel is a chic, industrial-style boutique hotel located in Boston’s historic Bulfinch Triangle. Housed in a restored 19th-century flat-iron building, it blends old-world architecture with sleek modern design. Just a 2-minute walk to both TD Garden and North Station, it’s perfectly positioned for concert-goers who want to stay close to the action without sacrificing comfort or style.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything—and The Boxer nails it. You’re just steps away from major music and sports events at TD Garden and the North Station transit hub, making late-night returns easy on foot or by public transport. The hotel offers a 12:00 PM checkout, giving you a bit more time to recover after a night out. Thanks to well-insulated rooms, you’ll enjoy a quiet, restful night even in the heart of the city.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking to pre-game and crash somewhere central
- Solo travelers catching a dream show at TD Garden
- Couples making a romantic weekend out of a concert night
- Fans who want a stylish but peaceful place to unwind
- Budget-conscious music lovers who still want boutique flair

Food and Drink Options

The on-site Finch Restaurant serves up modern American cuisine and locally inspired dishes, with cocktails and dinner available throughout the week. While 24/7 room service isn’t available, breakfast is served daily—ideal after a late night. You’re also within walking distance of plenty of downtown eateries and pubs around Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market (just 10 minutes away).

Nightlife Options

While the hotel itself keeps things mellow, you’re a short walk from Boston’s top bars, lounges, and venues. Pre-show drinks or a post-concert nightcap are easy to find nearby, and the Finch bar is a great spot to sip something local before heading out.

What People Say

Guests rave about the prime location, especially for events at TD Garden. The stylish decor and helpful staff also get frequent mentions. Many also appreciate the boutique vibe and cleanliness of the rooms. Travelers love the easy access to public transit and the ability to explore Boston on foot.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms can be on the smaller side, especially for groups with lots of gear. While the on-site restaurant is a plus, some guests wished for a few more late-night food options in-house. Parking is limited, so plan ahead if you’re driving in.

The Bottom Line

With its unbeatable location, stylish comfort, and quiet charm, The Boxer Hotel makes a perfect home base for concert-goers in Boston.

Was my first time in Boston and to see an NHL game and I'm so glad we picked The Boxer to stay in while we were there. A very central location to a lot of the main spots in Boston - I think I took a cab once in the two days I was there and we did A LOT! Awesome staff and a very cute room - the pictures don't do enough for the hotel. Great stay - I will definitely be back.

Liked: Got exactly the room I wanted with two double beds - no mix up. = )
Disliked: They forgot to fill my bathroom amenities when they cleaned the room - honest mistake.

There was no mention of the hotel's renovations. So that was a surprise, and considering the extensive renovations, the room rate probably should have been a little less. Also, I selected a double bed room and didn't receive. That said, our room was nice and it looks like the hotel will be too, once finished.

Liked: Room was nice, as I believe it was recently renovated.
Disliked: Renovations and not the room we selected.

Rude staff, leaky shower, dirty...

Liked: The location was the only good thing about this place. We saw Shinedown at TD Garden and it was walking distance.
Disliked: The lady at the front desk was an absolute rude, rude woman right from the beginning. Talked extremely fast like an auctioneer even though I was the only one in the lobby. I had to ask her to repeat herself a few times and she rolled her eyes at me as if I was bothering her. She told me the wrong room # & also wrote the wrong # on the key card. When we finally walked from the parking lot, which wasn't the shortest distance with all our stuff plus went to the 8th floor the key wouldn't work. Had to walk back down for a new card to which she grumbled at me telling me that I should keep the key card away from my phone. When she asked me what room I told her 802 she says RUDELY "I TOLD YOU 807." Actually ma'am no you didn't. You also wrote 802 on the key card. Just nasty individual. Don't like your job, get a new one!The mugs in the room were chipped & cracked. Keurig was disgusting and looked like it hadn't been cleaned "mini bar" was dusty as if it hadn't been kept up with for months. The shower door leaked water when we showered. Huge disgusting stain on our bench in the room. Was supposed to get a $20 credit on our room service but they were conveniently out of everything we tried to order so couldn't use it on breakfast before we left. Gave up.Tried to email their customer service email about the stay and NO reply. Socials (instagram and Facebook) were no help. Just robotic answers. Maybe the front desk lady runs the email account, who knows. I will NEVER stay at this piece of SHHHHH again. Not worth the $600 I paid. What a DUMP. I would have contacted someone when we were on sight but we stayed only 1 night and we got in late after the concert and who was I to really talk to? The only one rude lady at the counter. No thanks. Pretty sad that customer service cannot even get back to you, though but can post fake AI type photos on their instagram making their rooms look nicer than they are. Pathetic.

Pleasant - 3.0 out of 5

Rebekah Sun, 17 August 2025

Pleasant

Liked: It was close to north station in Boston and fairly walkable to attractions.
Disliked: There was no restaurant within the hotel, there are restaurants all around but I like the convenience of one in the hotel, you can get room service but that is not what I was looking for. No vending machines either only an ice machine. The switched owners and closed the restaurants a few days prior to our visit.
