Good access to Eldora...
Liked: Easy access to Eldora and the town. Very large room with tons of space. Front desk staff were very helpful.
Disliked: Definitely starting to show its age. The sofa bed was quite uncomfortable.

Poor communication from the hotel...
Disliked: The hotel had no power on arrival, and was closed. We had to leave the town and go back home. Unfortunately there was no call made to us in advance of us flying in from Arkansas and driving to Nederland. We have requested a refund.

Very good
Liked: Middle of a charming mountain town, Nederland. Short walk to diverse, good quality restaurants. Services that orient to tourists, yes, but certainly not touristy in the normal way you would use the term. Comfortable, spacious room. Relaxed service.

Great potential; reasonable log cabin...
Liked: This place has a lot of potential. I’ve stayed a couple of times now - 5 nights total - and will likely stay again for the easy access (7min drive) to Eldora. I love the old log cabin feel inside and out and the fires (gas though…real wood fireplaces would enhance the log cabin feel) going in the multiple open common areas. The location is great for walking around Nederland (which could be a great mountain town if the planners had a clue (whose idea was a giant parking lot strip mall…?)) and to restaurants etc. which is good because we stayed three nights but never got breakfast - first morning the breakfast area was closed for some sort of repair (? Why not still offer breakfast in the common area or to go?), last morning they were “not doing breakfast today” (ok, weird…). The breakfast they do offer is apparently just grains three ways (cereal, oatmeal, toast; that’s it. does Kellogg own this place or something? Breakfast in a log cabin should be hot: sausage and eggs at a minimum; and there should be some fruit option. Or do a real mountain breakfast with summer sausage, cheese or something like that). Fortunately, the railroad car coffee shop across the parking lot (cool place with character - note to planners/developers: Nederland needs more of this and less strip malls; and hide the parking lots; duh; you’re welcome.) makes fresh mini donuts (very good when hot), breakfast burritos and sandwiches (the egg/bacon/cheese (minus the cheese for me) on a a croissant was delicious) and solid coffee (locally roasted they say).

For the amount of money...
Liked: No breakfast was served. According to staff breakfast is only served on weekends.
Disliked: Overall, the facility is very mediocre. The heat and hot water worked but otherwise it is at best a 2 star Hotel.

I should have booked some...
Liked: The staff was very friendly and accommodating and the room was large and comfortable.
Disliked: The lobby and hallways reeked of skunky marijuana. The room was very dark and all they used for lighting was 60 watt equivalent bulbs - they had nothing brighter. Why does the hospitality industry think that this is enough light?! Clearly they do not stay in their own rooms. LIGHT THESE PLACES UP, PEOPLE! The biggest problem was that there was NO INTERNET SERVICE!! ZERO WIFI AVAILABILITY! That is a crucial element today - it is like having no electricity! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!!

Liked: The room was nice but far to expensive.
Disliked: We left at 9:00 in the morning and did not see any breakfast available we were up at 630 so I am unsure if there was anything available. No drinking water was offered or available I had to go to the store to get water and drinks
