Built in 1866 The Borrowdale Hotel still retains many original Victorian features. Some of the bedrooms feature lake views. With open fires the oak-paneled lounge bar and conservatory are open for light lunches and afternoon teas with terraces overlooking landscaped gardens and surrounding mountains. Relaxing, comfortable and helpful staff.

Liked: Everything was done to a very high standard. We very much enjoyed our stay and looking forward to returning at some date in the future.
Disliked: We liked everything.

Excellent family stay

Liked: Comfortable room with lots of space and storage. Clean and tidy and well maintained. Wonderful location for exploring the Borrowdale valley. Staff very attentive, professional and friendly.
Disliked: Charging £30 a night for our dog seemed excessive.
