Liked: Great location and service throughout. No fuss used as base to watch the cricket at York . Excellent breakfast

Liked: Great location, comfy bed, staff were very welcoming.Very quirky lovely pub.
Disliked: Unfortunately the shower pressure was terrible! The water kept cutting out completely. I couldn't wash my hair as it would have taken all day to get the shampoo out. The windows need cleaning. No fresh coffee at breakfast and the bacon was cremated. However we would stay here again though.

Liked: Just what we were looking for, a place where you get to meet the locals, have entertainment (a live band on Fridays) and be close to the city centre. The bar staff were very welcoming and friendly, and we had a great time getting to know them and the locals. The room was lovely and the bed was comfy and instead of room numbers the rooms are named, ours was called 'The Grand Old Duke of York'. We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the same things as us. We had an amazing time here, thank you and hopefully we will be back in the future.

Liked: Clean rooms and friendly welcoming staff. Good breakfast cooked to order. Fab location just a few minutes walk from the old city walls and York Minster.

Liked: Central location. Clean accommodation
Disliked: Mattress was too firm for my liking. A container or platform for the soap/shower gell would help in the shower unit.
