Great location for a rural...

Liked: Lovely location with friendly staff and nice home cooked food. Great selection of whisky!! Lovely pond on site with ducks etc
Disliked: To keep the room cool we needed to leave a window open but then the Cockerel woke us up at 4.30am! I know that a rural location brings these natural noises. But a fan in the room would have helped keep it a bit cooler on warm days/nights. Some coffee and uht milk would have been nice in the room

Lovely night away to relax...

Liked: Rooms have everything you need and is absolutely spotless!!! it’s in a lovely quiet spot in country with bar and restaurant on site. Food was 10/10 and staff lovely. Campsite is on the grounds also but no issues at all, no noise, no loud music nothing and everybody really friendly and respectful of others. Absolute hidden Gem.Already booked to go back.

Appalling, owner very rude.

Disliked: On the morning of the booking (a Sunday) I received a call from the owner who said the placed was closed on a Sunday as it was their day off. They asked what time I would arrive (I said between 4 and 5) they asked me to call them then and they would come to let me in.Arrived at 4.10 and rang many times as it appeared the phone was going to answerphone. Then realised that the phone was to the bar I was standing outside which was completely empty and closed. Waited until about 6 in the cold, sheltering from the rain (I had ridden by motorbike) eventually gave up and fund another place to stay through Booking.comGot a call from the owner at 6.30 who wanted to know where I was. I explained what had happened and how I had eventually given up and found somewhere else. I would also be reporting this to Booking.com and expecting a full refund. The guy didn’t even apologise, called me a ‘F===ing A===hole’ and slammed the phone down. Nice….
