Quaint, cozy and homey.

Liked: Location. Atmosphere
Disliked: At checkin, we upgraded to a suite because we wanted an extra bed (sofa bed) and were told it slept 8. We only had 4 of us but we’re confused how it would sleep 8. When we got upstairs, there weren’t even enough towels for 4. And there were no sheets or anything for the sofa bed. Seems like that would’ve been given at checkin knowing it was the only reason I agreed to pay double. The safety chain on the door in the room was missing completely. We felt a little unsafe because the room took real keys and we had no secondary lock option. The mattresses and pillows were worn out and thin. The sofa bed mattress was so worn out that you could feel the metal from the base. The crème brûlée in the restaurant was burnt. Not just the normal torching on top, but BURNT. It wasn’t a great way to end a $175 meal. Overall it was a good stay, these are just areas of opportunity for improvement.

Beautiful hotel on Pine Lake

Liked: Hotel was beautiful. We had a king room with a lake view balcony and hot tub. It was huge. All of the front desk ladies were phenomenal no matter what time of day or night. The breakfast was solid, but the actual restaurant itself was amazing. One of the best steaks I've had in a long time and my wife loved her Fruits of the Sea as well. Will definitely be back.
Disliked: Fireplace wasn't working. But since we were only there for a short time we didn't think to mention it to the front desk. The shower head could either stand to be replaced, or at least cleaned with some CLR. One of the nozzles kept spraying me in the eye intermittently and there were obvious lime stains on it.. One of the cooks(not the chef) could learn a little discretion when discussing his job and patrons considering the kitchen is small and open to the public. He complained almost the entire time we ate dinner about other guests and made a comment when I asked one of the waitresses if I could take a step outside to take a picture of the sunset on the lake. My wife let me know when I came back in that he was making a fuss once I stepped out.

Nice place to stay but...

Liked: Location
Disliked: It is getting a bit worn. No elevator for second floor. Shower stall in the bathroom was really worn and the thermostat didn’t work in the room.

Perfect weekend getaway on the...

Liked: The location of the hotel is exceptional, gorgeous and on the lake! Checking into the hotel was made into a lovely experience by Mary who thrusts her personality into her work. The room itself was perfect for mine and my partners stay for a truly romantic night for my birthday! I'll definitely be back for future celebrations!
Disliked: There were quite a few mosquitos! A lot more than normal, but the bugs are a part of life on the lake. The beds were a bit hard to sleep on, perhaps those a due for an update... Most of these things are minor in comparison to the wider experience
