Worst hotel experience ever!

Liked: Nothing good. They made us a hard time in New York City. Unfortunately, Booking.com didn't help us at all.
Disliked: The rooms are old & noisy. A little shampoo sachet for 3. But that would be fine as you can read it in the comments. Unfortunately we had to contact the so-called management. This was the worst service experience in all my hotel visits. And I am a Booking.com Genius level 3 customer with many bookings (and rare complaints).We couldn't sleep at all due to an incredibly loud night construction site outside the window (about 10pm - 4am).The next morning I asked at the reception for another room. The lady said there was already a waiting list of 5 or 6 people because of the construction.I asked for a pro rata refund to change hotels. As it was saturday, there would be no one to decide before monday. Her offer was 2 more nights with the construction site at night to see what would happen on monday. After much much begging, she gave me the contact to manager Scott. Phone: no answer. Email: unanswered. So I had to beg again at reception. At some point, the lady called another manager. Victoria, I think. She first said that there was no construction site and no waiting list. Then it wasn't the hotel's problem because it was on the street. No partial refund possible. At some point she at least offered to move to one of her other hotels. We accepted immediately to get some sleep. We paid for two rooms with a king-size bed + small kitchen. Now we got a tiny room with two mini double beds with shaky mattresses. The hotel was more modern, but my daughter could not sleep well (I`m snorring) and my wife and I took turns sleeping on the floor. Again: no other room, no refund.Scott actually contacted me four days late via iChat & asked if we were still in the room (?). I called him back, heard a quiet "Hello", then Scott hung up again, startled. Via iChat he told me to contact reception (where no one can decide).Maybe they denounce me because of this critic, you often see that in comments.

Disliked: Very dated public areas, very slow small elevator, only 1 working for a couple of days. ice machine not working.Poor TVnoisy fridge

Beautiful stay!

Liked: The location was perfect. Staff were brilliant and the housekeepers were really good keeping the rooms very clean.
Disliked: No breakfast or any kind of meals. No flexibility as we were told leaving luggage for two hours in the reception as we wait to be picked up by taxi to the airport, we would have to pay 2 dollars per luggage. We had stayed there for 7 nights and we found this unfair.

Liked: The location was amazing - just a few minutes walk from Central Park, Times Square, 5th Avenue and a subway station. There is a good little supermarket on the corner of the next block recommended by reception. The rooms are clean and comfortable, although there was some road noise as we were at the front of the hotel.The staff were all helpful when I asked for a recommendation, more towels and suitcase storage on our last day (nominal charge per bag). Yes the decor is a little dated but for this price and location it was hardly an issue - it looks exactly as you see it in the photos!
Disliked: Perhaps better noise insulation on the windows and a quieter in room fan but these were minor issues that did not stop us enjoying our stay

Liked: The staff was extraordinarily supportive. Storing luggage, using the bathroom and filling up our bottles at the water fountain was possible before check-in, which was very convenient.

Liked: The location
Disliked: One of the 2 elevators was broken for the whole stay (15floor building), a nightmare.The locker from the room door was broken and we had to go back to the front desk staff to ask them to come and fix it or replace the room card, EVERY SINGLE DAY. Another nightmare.There is no hair dryer in the rooms.
