Some of its walls are 1.2 to 4.9 feet thick. The wood paneling creaking floorboards low ceilings narrow staircases and thick wooden beams create a cozy atmosphere. Black Jack's is a separate part of the inn and is located in a courtyard to the rear. Eight of these 10 spacious rooms have mini kitchens and a small seating area. Carnaerfen Black Boy Inn

Liked: Great location inside historic walls of the town. Room was clean and had a nice bathroom and a comfy bed.
Disliked: Was a little difficult to get parked when I arrived but figured out that there are several public car parks close by so I used those. Also a small car park at the hotel that has to be paid for.

Overall we were impressed with...

Liked: The place was much larger than you would think looking from the outside. Atmosphere was very good. The location was superb being close to the castle and shops/bars.
Disliked: Limited parking facilities were poorly managed and expensive. It appeared staff had priority over paying guests. We were 2 guests aged over 65, yet placed on the top floor (2 flights of stairs).Staff attitude was not brilliant.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Very disappointing

Liked: Location great, building historic and beautiful. Room was well furnished. Staff were friendly.
Disliked: Room was so hot it was unbearable. Had to ask for extra fan. It was still really hot. No bottled water in room, at £130 quid a night I expect bottled water. When I asked for some I was told they didn’t have any so bought two lemonades to take to the room… £8! Receptionist then appeared with 2 bottles of water….Evening meal was overpriced and overcooked. Didn’t stay for breakfast as woken by workers downstairs at 7am playing a radio… unnecessary. Bedding old and could do with replacing. All in all very disappointing.
