The Bishop Hotel

A unique experience, traveling back...

Liked: Their beds were very comfortable! The mattress, the pillows and quilt were cozy and we slept well. We also liked the antique furniture and the rooms were spacious. We enjoyed the little coffee and wine shop as part of the hotel. We sat a few hours and enjoyed a latte and the best pistachio shortbread cookies ever!
Disliked: There were no pictures on the walls, it needed decorating. Also it’s an old building, the air quality needed to improve with maybe air filters.

Liked: Staff was very nice and accommodating.
Disliked: Room smelled-a sickly sweet smell. It didn't smell healthy. I tried to air it out during my 2-days there, but it persisted. It was either the smell of cleaning supplies used or a room deodorizing agent. I woke both mornings with stuffy nose and chest cough.

Liked: Clean and welcoming. Short walk to shops and eateries.
Disliked: I was traveling with my elderly mother. I did not notice when booking that there was not an elevator. Thankfully we were on the 2nd floor. But the 26 stairs to climb was hard for her. I would not have booked here if I had realized she had to use stairs.

Disliked: There are 44 steps to the third floor. We didn’t realize that on booking, so that was a bit of a challenge.Staff is unavailable before 9 or after 8.

Disliked: On-site parking was an extra charge which seems odd.
