Very good

Liked: Nice room.
Disliked: It was dirty. We found nails and some cookies. Besides, my reservation was for 4 people but the bed was not done. Fortunately , the staff at the reception during the night was helpful.

We loved the atmosphere and...

Liked: Beautiful location, old fashioned charm, loved the health center and spa, heated outdoor pool, sauna. Lovely small suite with porch, gas fireplace heater a lovely plus. Refrigerator was nice to have. Cozy!
Disliked: No remote control for sitting area tv. Double bed sagged with two people. No pool towels in the room nor at pool. (It was a very busy time, admittedly, with eclipse.) For the price of the room, a couple real cream pods would have been nice to accompany coffee amenity. Property a little worn in places.

Nice space but with flaws

Liked: The townhouse was spacious, updated, and very clean. The grounds and scenery are beautiful as well. The kitchen was well-appointed. It is clear that the cleaning staff work very hard to keep things nice!
Disliked: I was staying here with my two teenaged sons. When I checked in, I handed them my credit card and drivers license, as requested. The clerk at check-in handed me my license back, and when I was done signing everything, she gave me my keys, but not the credit card. I asked for it and she said, "I already gave it back to you." I was pretty sure she hadn't, but I checked my pockets and purse twice. No card. It was busy due to the eclipse, so I get that it was chaotic, so I asked her to check again. She and another worker did a very quick search and swore they didn't have it. I said I would have to cancel my card if they didn't have it, and they basically said that I should. When I got to my room I checked my pockets and purse again, and definitely did not have it. I called the desk to see if it had turned up and they said "Maybe you lost it by the pool or at your car." The last time I saw it was when I handed it to them, so there was no way it was anywhere but by that front desk. I never did get it back and had to cancel my card, which has a lot of hassle connected with it. The upstairs TV didn't work, and I discovered that the cable box was unplugged and the USB connector for it was not hooked up to the TV either. The gas fireplace would not work at all. For such a huge suite, the sleeping space is pretty sparse. My sons shared the queen bed in the lower level, and I volunteered to take the pull out sofa. We set it up, and the mattress was nothing more than a bunch of springs covered by a thin layer of cloth. I have slept on pull out sofas before and know they are not the pinnacle of comfort, but this was absolutely worse than even the floor, even my sons agreed. Fortunately, the couch itself was cozy. Additionally, a bright security light was shining through the curtains that did not completely cover the window (picture attached), and I could hear every word the people next door were saying.

Poor

Disliked: Booked a suite in the main building for a party of three plus a baby. Supposed to have bedroom and separate living are with refrig, fireplace etc. Arrived late in the evening (had confirmed late arrival), and they sent us to a small room with two beds that we had to drive to. Not remotely near resort facilities, no frig for baby things, 1 mattress had huge sag in middle. Blamed it on booking.com, although I confirmed with them prior. The woman at chck-in was pretty rude and took no responsibility for error, although it was clear they gave away our room. The only compensation she was will to offer was ONE 15 dollar breakfast voucher for a party of 3 despite vast differences in rooms booked and received

The website tells a different...

Liked: The location was great. We were upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite which was impressive. The fitness center has great options.
Disliked: First, I called to inquire about a refridgerator in the rooms (website didn't list it)and the person who answered the phone didn't know so she said I'd get a call back, Never did. Then, when checking in i inquired about the shuttle service offered on the website, Turns out that was eliminated years ago. It was one of the main reasons I booked Bethel Resort. Lastly, the heat in the room was atrocious. There was one unit in the living area and nothing else. We had to crank the heat in the living room and use a fan that was provided to blow warm air towards the bathroom, bedroom. Also, we went to the tavern at night expecting to find a pool table (pictured on the website) only to find it's no longer there. I think the website needs to be updated.
