Liked: Staff were pleasant and location is great.
Disliked: Generally poor for the premium price paid (lower ground level room come with no view despite description saying 'views') and did not come with any water bottles/ refreshments either - which is a bit mean for the price and 'status' of the hotel. Breakfast was the worst part - the 'free breakfast' is actually a very limited continental style buffet/ self serve option of undercooked bacon and sausage with long queues. Very disappointed as we genuinely expected more from what is described as a premium hotel for the price. We have honestly had better and more variety breakfasts in a Holiday or Premier Inn. The hotel needs to invest in the simple areas such as offering bottled water in rooms and address breakfast by least offering menu options rather than cheap limited buffet style breakfasts. The Hotel is living off its grand building, location and prior reputation but not backing it up with what it offers its customers. Next time, we would save 50% of our money and stay in a nice local B&B.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect...

Liked: It is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous setting with a perfect view of Lake Windermere. Very friendly, kind, and considerate staff. Comfortable, spacious room with a large ensuite.
Disliked: Nothing springs to mind.

Lively stay, definitely come back

Liked: The room was great, big comfy bed, warm, great view, great location, we loved the old lift The garden was beautiful.

Liked: Area and place nice. Very shocked that when arriving you get charged for parking, and another £100 goes on your card for damages.

Liked: The breakfast was very good and all the staff at breakfast were excellent. Professional, approachable and helpful.
Disliked: The chicken in my evening meal was undercooked. The manager dismissed this, said it wasn’t. It was and serving undercooked chicken is extremely dangerous. The same manager saw our table was wobbly and dismissed it saying we had moved it out of place. The next evening ( when I was served raw chicken) we saw that two other diners had been put in the same wobbly table. So the manager had done nothing about it! I told reception about the raw chicken at check out and he said he would look into it ( I said I wanted to know if the chef had acknowledged the chicken was raw)and email me. I have still not heard from the hotel. Because of this, I would not stay there again and would not recommend it.
