The Bella Ella Bed and Breakfast

We think she’s a scam...

Liked: We did eat breakfast. The reviews said it was poor, so we decided not to. The problem was we reserved in early spring, via booking.com. It was for a room with a private bath. The owner called the day before our arrival ( first I’d spoken to her) 1) she said her card reader was broken, and could we pay cash. (We did not) 2) she told us how to get in, etc, and we never saw her. 3) she said the bedroom was very small. I said ok?? She also said nothing about the bed being unable to accessed by one party as it was against the wall! She then proceeded to tell us the bathroom was in the hallway… we didn’t like this or the fact that it wasn’t listed that way, or disclosed prior to then. She said she’s made it clear to booking.com, and that you all have refused to list it correctly?We made the best of it, as it was either that or drive back home and miss our concert event.I wrote her a factual review, but she was lambasting us for what we said. She said she gave us opportunity to cancel that day before… she did, but why? We hadn’t even seen it yet? Plus by her rules, cancellation occurring after the 23rd we would be charged full price.So we went with our plans and my husband had to get me up when he had to get out of bed, or crawl over me. The bathroom was nice down the hall, but it was still down the hall.The fridge was unplugged. There’s more, I think you understand.Thanks,The Penmans
Disliked: Disclosure of things people want to know.Not calling and asking for cash. Better communication.We won’t go back or recommend to anyone else.The stepping stone path was a terrible tripping hazard.

Liked: The pond was perfect. Cllo and clear. Breakfast was amazing. Excellent hostess.

Disliked: Breakfast was impersonal (saw no staff) and cold in other ways, too.Booked through bookings.com I think - they show the big room, got put in the little one ... without an adjustment of our rate.

Liked: Excellent breakfast. An egg and potato dish was very tasty, accompanied by an assortment of fresh fruit. Felt very welcomed. Beautiful grounds.
Disliked: In the room we stayed in, the bed should be pulled out a little more to make room to get out of the bed.
