Step back in time without sacrificing comfort at The Bell Inn Stilton Cambridgeshire. This inviting 17th-century coaching house is tucked in the heart of the picturesque village of Stilton, just a short drive from Peterborough and with easy access to Cambridge. With its centuries-old beams, courtyard rooms, and cozy pub atmosphere, it’s the kind of place that combines historic character with modern convenience.
If you're heading to a show in Peterborough or the surrounding area, this hotel hits the sweet spot. Just a 15-minute drive from Peterborough's top venues, The Bell Inn offers a peaceful retreat after a high-energy night. Free parking and direct access to the A1 make late-night returns easy. The village location ensures a quiet night's sleep, and the flexible check-in from 3 PM and check-out by 11 AM means you can rest easy, even after a late encore.
The hotel serves up a full English breakfast—ideal after a late night. The on-site Galleried Restaurant showcases seasonal local produce in a stylish setting, while the Bistro and Village Bar offer traditional British and international dishes. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the on-site options are delicious and just steps from your room.
While the village itself is quiet, The Bell Inn’s bar is a cozy spot to raise a glass post-concert. For those looking to keep the night going, nearby Peterborough offers pubs, cocktail bars, and live music spots just a short drive or taxi ride away.
Because it’s a historic property, some rooms may feel a bit quirky in layout, and hot water pressure can vary slightly. Also, while the village charm is a plus for many, those wanting to walk to late-night bars might find it a bit too peaceful after dark.
If you're after a charming, quiet, and well-located stay for your next concert trip, The Bell Inn Stilton Cambridgeshire hits all the right notes.

Cannot recommend the rooms, staff...
Liked: Chose here for the history coupled with nearby work the next day. Travel often with work and had low expectations. The Bell Inn is an example of how good accom can be. Cannot recommend enough.
Disliked: There were no problems whatsoever with any aspects of our stay at the Bell.

Excellent Stay at lovely hotel....
Liked: My evening meal and breakfast were excellent. The staff were very friendly and courteous. For dinner, I had poached fish, which was well presented and tasty.Very good choice available at breakfast.
Disliked: upon arrival, there was no one at reception, and had to wait several minutes before being attended too.In addition, when attending dinner, again, no one was available for a while. Felt that it may have been due to staff shortage? No complaints about the actual staff members as they were friendly and professional.

Exceptional
Liked: Lovely internal courtyard for summer and comfortable cosy indoor bar/restaurant for colder weather, attractive building and rooms, very friendly, helpful and professional staff
Disliked: Quite a lot of steps and stairs, although that is also part of the charm of an original building.
