We would stay again but...
Liked: Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Food was excellent. We had a lovely time.
Disliked: Our dog friendly room was right next to the resturant and as there’s no air conditioning and the room was really warm we wanted to keep the windows open but the noise from Resturant kept us awake.

A nice hotel.
Liked: A nice hotel which suited our needs as it was dog friendly. A nice covered out door restaurant area, which severed good food. Breakfast was served in a nice little tea shop just across the road.
Disliked: Nothing really

Lovely hotel for a meet...
Liked: A beautiful old building with lots of nooks and crannies. The staff were amazing and so friendly. The restaurant and food was great. We only stayed one night but I’m sure we’ll come back. The breakfast was delicious too!

A perfect Cowbridge home base!
Liked: The Bear is just it. Staff is exceptionally professional and friendly, and the hotel itself is the perfect Cowbridge destination. With a 24/7 quaint bar, a (few) modern restaurant(s), and that very relaxed but fine ambience, it’s a repeat for us for sure.
Disliked: All perfect.

Loved it - would book...
Liked: breakfast was great - although slightly unexpectedly, was in the cafe called 'penny farthing' over the road from the main hotel. We had the 'cider' apartment - spacious, and everything we needed. Two large beds - although we only tested one, but that one was very comfy. Lots of room downstairs too, and even though we had booked breakfast included, they still provided milk, tea and coffee, and a loaf of bread in the kitchen area.
Disliked: The stairs in the apartment were a touch uneven, and quite steep. If you were a little unsteady on your feet, this might be an issue. We however had no real problem. If I was being really fussy, the coir carpet in the main bedroom was a bit hard on the feet. But that would be being very fussy.
