The Beachview Inn Clearwater Beach

This was one of the worst hotels i have ever stayed in. The air condition did not work properly, would not cool to anything under 79 degrees, the iron board did not stand up. In addition to this I was charged 5 dollars a day for a safe I did not even know was in the room, and 5 dollars a day for parking in the hotel parking lot. I could not find this policy written anywhere online. It was on a small sign in the lobby. However, since my card was charged in advance I was stuck.

Disliked: Bad, Bad, Bad

Liked: The view and location was great. Walking distance to the beach.
Disliked: Elevator not working. Staff are not communicating well. We wanted our room cleaned but did not happen. Clearly someone in the staff was not telling the truth. The breakfast was okay.

Very good

Liked: Loved the convenience. Rooms are clean.
Disliked: They do not clean your rooms daily. You have to give a 24 hr notice to have the rooms cleaned.

Disliked: Ice maker didn’t work, elevator didn’t work, water pressure was very low, the whole front of building was boarded up, paint chips all over walls, couch smelled and dirty, rooms smelled, rooms was dirty, delayed checkin, stairways felt unsafe, beds was hard, staff was rude.

Disliked: The floor in the room an under the bed was dirty an the table the sofa.

Liked: Location was great. Very close to Beach. The room was very spacious. Nice Beach balcony view. Convenient to stores and restaurants . Staff was friendly. Breakfast wasn't much but it was helpful to have complimentary breakfast. Definitely saved me some money.
Disliked: Room was somewhat dusty. It wasn't dirty or anything. I just don't think they did a good enough job cleaning up sand particles. The elevator is also out of service. And this has been the case for over a year now. I know that because if they literally said so. The elevator went out of service after the hurricane last year. However there's no reason why an elevator should be out of service so long. Fortunately me and my partner are young and good health so we wouldn't need any elevator. Also we were on the second floor so we definitely wouldn't need an elevator. However we originally were on the 4th floor. I can see if somebody was elderly or disabled this being a problem if their room was not on the 4th floor.

Disliked: Property doesn't confirm that elevator is broken. We booked 2 rooms for 6 family members. 1 family member being disabled and a 1 year old. After 30 mins on the phone they only guaranteed 1 room on second floor. Being stuck going up 5 flights of stairs multiple times a day with a 1 year old wasn't enjoyable. The breakfast & coffee is not worth advertising.
