The hotel accommodations and staff were much better than I anticipated. I will definitely stay there again the next time I travel to Tampa.

Liked: Right across from Straz Center where we were going that night. Comfortable room with the performers staying there. The restaurant in the lobby was wonderful for our schedule and the food was great. Jesus the waiter was very good and personable.

4 Great Nights at the...
Liked: The housekeeping crew was very friendly and helpful. The front desk crew was also very helpful - and got us checked in in the morning so we could make the NCAA hockey games in the afternoon. The location was convenient right off Rt 275, near the river walk, and easy to get to the Amalie Arena by drive or walk (1.3 mile). Shuttle service would bring folks nearly anywhere they wanted to go.
Disliked: Lobby and the restaurant/lounge were a little noisy due to the floors and walls. (I think that may be a current trend in most hotels). The setup and amenities were, however, very nice. It is a little older hotel, but the renovations and maintenance are doing well.

Reasonable hotel with a great...
Liked: The staff was friendly & efficient, location was very good, rate was very fair compared to other downtown properties, and it was overall a good experience. I traveled alone and felt safe in the evening which is a concern to me.
Disliked: The property was plain and simple, my door stuck somewhat making it tough to open sometimes. I often stay at more upscale chains, and this was not comparable to a Westin, however the convenient location combined with a much lower price for a short stay made it a good choice.

A gem of a deal
Liked: What is the matter with people. I cannot understand the average reviews with what is a top notch hotel. Was here for day one of a meeting before moving to a premier waterfront hotel at twice the price and found that my room was much nicer at the Barrymore. Maybe more amenities at the waterfront. But hotel wise the Barrymore has my vote and with their shuttle service You can't go wrong!

Would definitely return!
Liked: Very good location nice staff rooms were large and comfortable. Housekeeping staff were friendly and pleasant
Disliked: The water was off for half a day, the restaurant closed 3 hours early one night but management was kind enough to discount our rooms for our inconvenience

Liked: Front desk staff was friendly.
Shuttle from Convention Center to hotel was nice.
Disliked: Restaurant was a mess. Servers didn't know anything about the menu or bar selections. Dreary hallways and room. Water pressure was low in the shower. Multiple floors used as dorm for local college.
