Very good

Liked: Nice hotel close to everything you want to be at downtown Halifax
Disliked: The hallways could use a bit more signage Seemed to be a few intersections etc just pointing the way back to the elevator from your room

Superb

Liked: Great location. Near a lot of bus routes and the ferry terminal, plus tons of restaurants nearby. Very walkable. Rooms are spacious and the beds were comfortable.
Disliked: Would have liked an actual kettle in the room for tea, not just the coffee pod machine. Elevators are quite slow, so best to stay on a lower floor and take the stairs.

Barrington hotel = disappointed and...

Liked: The only thing that was good about this hotel was the location.
Disliked: Almost everything about it - it was so dirty that it made me and my family very uncomfortable. We basically spent the less time possible in the room because we were so uncomfortable. The carpet was stained in multiple spots, there was mold in the bathroom, and we avoided the brown 1970s couch like the plague. The parking was complicating, there is housekeeping only if you request it. The photos are not true to reality - the hotel looks nice on the photos but everything is so old and rundown. The only reason we stayed is because the city was sold-out of hotel rooms and we couldn’t find another option that wasn’t crazy expensive. Yuck - I would never recommend this hotel to anyone and would never ever stay here again.

Exceptional

Liked: It is well sent to downtown and it is walking distance to everything you want to see.
Disliked: The hand soap is way too small you should furnish a bigger size

Liked: Bus stop right outside building. Close to attractions. Hotel was clean and comfortable
Disliked: Room was very dated. Bed situated in a strange wooden cabinet and the pillows kept falling off the bed as there was no headboard

The whole experience was very...

Disliked: Very old and run down. There is no hotel parking. They send you to a public lot that is $30 / night, and is about a 5 - 10 minute walk in an area that felt pretty sketchy after dark. The staff all stared any time i walked through the lobby, after dark, like i was interrupting them. The staff member that checked me in was rude and it seemed like it was his first day.
