The Spotlight on The Baroness Hotel

Classic Seattle Charm Close to the Action

A cozy, vintage-style stay in the heart of Seattle, The Baroness Hotel offers old-school comfort just blocks from the city’s top attractions and music venues. Located right across from Virginia Mason Medical Center and within easy reach of Pike Place Market and the Washington State Convention Center, this all-suites hotel is a smart pick for concert-goers who want a central, budget-friendly base with a bit of historic charm.

Why Concert-goers love it

If you're heading to a show at WaMu Theater, Climate Pledge Arena, or one of the city’s many downtown venues, this hotel puts you within a quick 10-minute drive. Fans appreciate the late 12:00 PM checkout—perfect after a long night—and the convenience of 24-hour front desk service. While the rooms don’t have air conditioning, each suite includes a fan, keeping things comfortable even during busy summer tour seasons. Bonus: the hotel can arrange shuttle service to cruise terminals, which is handy for travelers catching a post-concert cruise.

Who this Hotel is great for

Groups of friends looking to split a suite with a kitchen
Solo travelers tracking down their bucket-list artist
Couples planning a relaxed, music-filled weekend
Fans who want a quiet space after the encore
Budget-conscious music lovers who still want a prime location

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, each suite comes with a full kitchen, perfect for late-night bites or lazy breakfasts. The hotel is also just a short walk from a range of casual restaurants and cafes, many of which stay open late. No room service, but the location makes takeout a breeze.

Nightlife Options

You're a short stroll from Capitol Hill’s buzzing bars and lounges, or a quick ride to Belltown’s live music joints and cocktail haunts. While the hotel itself is more low-key and doesn’t host music events, it’s a solid base for exploring Seattle’s evening scene and coming back to a quiet, restful space.

What People Say

Travelers love the friendly staff, the hotel’s historic charm, and the spacious suites that offer great value. Many note that the location is ideal for accessing both downtown and Capitol Hill, with reviewers often pointing out the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms aren't air-conditioned, which could be a concern during rare Seattle heat waves—but the provided fans usually do the trick. Some guests mention the decor feels a bit dated, but most see it as part of the hotel’s vintage vibe.

The Bottom Line

For concert-goers seeking affordable comfort and convenience near Seattle’s top venues, The Baroness Hotel hits the right notes.

I liked everything about the...

Liked: I liked everything about it
Disliked: I didn’t like we had to pay for parking, and if parking lot full find somewhere else to park. That’s just ridiculous.

If I return to Seattle,...

Liked: I love that it still had 1930 features. It was a great location to the G-line rapid-Ride and small restaurants. It was probably the cleanest hotel I have stayed in.
Disliked: The beds weren’t really queen sized.

Overall, I had a pleasant...

Liked: The hotel is very old, but they’ve made an effort to keep it clean. The room is spacious, with a mini kitchen that includes a small fridge, microwave, sink, coffee maker, and what I believe is an oven. It had everything I needed for my two-night stay before my cruise. The bathroom provided lotion, as well as built-in shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. There’s also a mini grocery store on the next block where you can buy water. My Uber ride from Nordstrom in downtown to the property cost $10, tax included. In the lobby, they even offered complimentary drinking water for all guests.
Disliked: The only downside of this property is that it’s located in a hilly part of the city, which made walking difficult—especially if you’re carrying something. It’s also a bit far from major attractions, particularly if you’re not in the mood to walk.

Yes, I would stay here...

Liked: the location was perfect for my travel needs of this trip; I would suggest removing the big out dated stove unit from the kitchen thereby opening up the very narrow space between that and the bed. The unit is not really needed as there is a microwave unit and coffee maker.
