The Spotlight on The Bandstand

Seaside Tradition and Music-Lover Charm in Nairn

Modern comforts meet traditional Scottish hospitality at The Bandstand, a cozy, family-run hotel perched on the shores of Nairn with sweeping views of the Moray Firth. Just steps from the town center and a quick drive from Inverness, this welcoming spot blends local flavor with a strong music heritage, making it a favorite for travelers heading to gigs in the Highlands.

Why Concert-goers love it

The Bandstand isn’t just close to concert action — it’s part of it. Hosting its own annual Bandstand Beer and Music Festival and boasting an award-winning pub, this hotel is all about the tunes. After your show, wind down in the chilled guest lounge with an open fire or enjoy a dram while taking in the sea air. Though it’s in the heart of Nairn, the peaceful seaside location means you’ll get a quiet night’s sleep after the encore. Check-in from 16:00 gives you time to settle in before the show, and the 10:30 check-out lets you rest a little longer the morning after.

Who this Hotel is great for

- Groups of friends looking for a pub with personality and live music
- Solo travelers catching a Highland bucket-list concert
- Couples wanting scenic romance before or after a show
- Fans needing peace and comfort post-gig
- Budget-conscious music lovers who don’t want to compromise character

Food and Drink Options

Start the night with a meal at the Sea View Restaurant, known for its fresh seafood and traditional Scottish dishes. The award-winning bar offers a rotating selection of real ales and ciders — 9 hand pumps to be exact — and is Cask Marque accredited. Breakfast is included and served traditionally Scottish-style, perfect after a late night. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the lively pub stays open late and there are plenty of walkable options nearby.

Nightlife Options

You don’t have to go far to enjoy the scene. The hotel’s own Bandstand Bar is a live music hub, with regular gigs and its own music festival. Prefer something low-key? Settle by the fire with a dram or explore local bars and lounges just a stroll away in Nairn’s town center.

What People Say

Guests rave about the friendly staff, incredible sea views, and authentic pub atmosphere. Many reviews highlight the top-notch breakfast and love the hotel’s cozy, down-to-earth vibe. The mix of music, views, and comfort hits the right note for many returning visitors.

Areas for Improvement

Rooms are comfy but not ultra-modern — think more traditional charm than sleek luxury. Some guests noted the bathrooms were on the snug side, and early checkout at 10:30 may feel a bit rushed after a late night. But for most, the view and vibe make it more than worth it.

The Bottom Line

With its live music roots, cozy pub energy, and stunning sea views, The Bandstand is a top pick for concert-goers looking to enjoy the Highlands with heart and harmony.

Super, fun, great atmosphere and...

Liked: Superb live music. Excellent to see a venue promoting and supporting acts when so many don’t. I got a really courteous email warning me that there may be live music and offering to move my room. But I was able to enjoy the concert, and still couldn’t hear anything from my room.
