Lux hotel that delivers

Liked: Stunning old building that is appointed and beautifully decorated. My 5th floor room was lovely. Complimentary still and sparkling mineral water was appreciated. Had drinks and dinner at the hotel's french brasserie. Service excellent and the food was very good.
Disliked: I do not like the oversized tubs with the glass half door. Anyone over the age of 60, with rare exceptions, will have a hard time getting in and out and would prefer a shower without the oversized tub. That said the bathrooms are well appointed and very clean. Love the Sean Connery 007 photos.

Liked: The staff were truly attentive and could not do enough for us.Location was great for our purposeRoom and amenities were all exceptional.
Disliked: It was still very expensive (but I guess that you get what you pay for) so the cost would be a factor in choosing where to stay on our next visit to Edinburgh

Comfortable beautiful rooms, but doesn't...

Liked: Location of the Hotel was great, and rooms were very comfortable, and beautiful.
Disliked: Definitely not worth what we paid. The hotel Spa and Gym were not available, the hotel did not offer ammenities like a shop, or coffee bar...just fancy restaurants.
