The Spotlight on The Baileys Hotel London

Victorian Charm Steps from Kensington’s Music Scene

The Baileys Hotel London blends historic elegance with modern comfort in the heart of Kensington. Housed in a restored 19th-century townhouse, this stylish hotel is just across the street from Gloucester Road Tube Station, placing you within easy reach of London’s top concert halls and music venues. With its stained-glass windows, sweeping staircase, and plush rooms, it’s the perfect mix of classic charm and contemporary convenience.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and The Baileys delivers — you’re just a short Tube ride or walk from iconic venues like the Royal Albert Hall. The proximity to Gloucester Road Station makes late-night transport a breeze, even after encore performances. The hotel’s peaceful rooms offer a welcome retreat after a high-energy night, and the 12:00 pm checkout means you can sleep in after a late gig.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a stylish base near Kensington’s attractions
  • Solo travelers catching a dream concert at Royal Albert Hall
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of it
  • Music fans who appreciate a serene space to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious concertgoers who still want a touch of luxury

Food and Drink Options

Feeling peckish after a set? The on-site Bugis Street Brasserie serves bold and delicious Asian cuisine with flavors from Singapore, China, and Malaysia. While there’s no 24/7 room service, the local area is packed with eateries open late. In-room tea, coffee, biscuits, and bottled water are restocked daily, and breakfast is available for those looking to refuel after a late night.

Nightlife Options

Though the hotel itself leans toward tranquility, you’re just minutes from lively bars and lounges around South Kensington and High Street Kensington. Whether you're after a quiet cocktail or a bustling pub vibe, there’s something nearby for every post-concert mood.

What People Say

Guests consistently praise the hotel’s location, calling it “perfect for sightseeing and shows.” The historic interiors and “beautiful staircase” get frequent shoutouts, as does the friendly staff. Reviewers also love the clean, spacious rooms and the convenience of the nearby Tube station.

Areas for Improvement

Some guests mention that rooms facing the street can be a bit noisy, so light sleepers may want to request an interior room. The hotel’s charm comes from its history, but that does mean no ultra-modern vibe if that’s what you’re after.

The Bottom Line

If you want a stylish, well-located stay with Victorian charm and easy access to shows, The Baileys Hotel London is a smart pick for concert-goers.

Good location

Liked: Location. Close to the tube and lots of restaurants near it.
Disliked: Facility is outdated. There was no window which could have been opened. The ventilation is noisy. The room was not properly cleaned. The breakfast laked diversity.

Quality room and facility in...

Liked: Often hotel rooms in cities like London are smaller than comparable rooms in the US. The Bailey's room was spacious with a sizable bathroom. Our favorite thing about The Bailey's was the location. The neighborhood was quieter than being in central London, but still had a number of shops and restaurants nearby. There was also an Underground station across the street with lines running to all of the major attractions.
Disliked: Just a few slight nit-picks. It's an older building (no surprise) so there are some quirks. There was a half flight of stairs between the elevator and our floor; little inconvenient when carrying your luggage. The lifts are very small so if another party is using it you'll either be really cramped or need to wait for another. Again, minor things that didn't really impact our stay.

The location is perfect but...

Liked: The location was grate!
Disliked: The price is too expensive for what you get 890 euro for 2 night and you don’t even get breakfast included in the price! In addition to that the rooms are old and outdated.
