Superb

Liked: The look, the grounds, the room, the pool!
Disliked: Everything should t down VERY early but the bar area accommodated us to bring in dinner. What a wonderful experience! Little bit expensive in my opinion but generally worth it. Great location too!

Disappointing

Liked: Lunch was good, lovely view from the dining room.
Disliked: Unfortunately the hotel failed to deliver on a simple request for a bottle of champagne (at a cost of £75) to be placed in our room for when I returned from a walk having proposed to my partner. When I spoke to reception the excuse was given that 'we were manic' and therefore they had simply forgotten. No remedy or alternative was offered and I was unfortunately left feeling that the hotel did not care about this special day/moment for myself and my partner. Unsatisfied I emailed the manger and in fairness the Customer Relations Manager, Kirsty, met with me before I checked out and was very apologetic and understanding. I was given some money off my final bill in recompense.Overall the entire experience and staff at the hotel (with the exception of Kirsty) was underwhelming.

As from my scores and...

Liked: The whole place is stunning, the gardens , the scenery and the building.
Disliked: The food we had in the bar restaurant was very average and overpriced. The fish and chips were clearly frozen food and not a good idea to serve salad on a very hot plate, thus making the Chicken burger my wife had very soggy on the bottom. The drink at the bar is also overpriced, don’t really see the need for this.

Beautiful, historic and relaxing stay

Liked: The Atholl Palace Hotel is a grand historic building set amongst beautiful highland scenery. The restaurant has lovely views overlooking the valley and we really enjoyed the buffet breakfast here in this bright area of the hotel. The hotel grounds are extensive and there’s loads of outdoor space to enjoy.
Disliked: Some of the decor and furnishings could do with upgrading, though this didn’t dampen our stay and perhaps are in keeping with the historic property.

Overall - excellent

Liked: We liked everything, the breakfast was good, staff very helpful and facilities available were excellent to have the opportunity to do all activities any time and it was close enough to walk around all places so we didn’t have to use the car.
Disliked: Felt the prices in the bar were quite high, we found menus on the tables for teas and coffees and scones etc but didn’t know how to get them, would have enjoyed a tea and a scone even later at night just to snack on.
