Very poor and I won't...
Liked: Cold scrambled egg and bacon
Disliked: No sauvignon blanc no pinot grigio and chemin blanc available in bar but not restaurant. Shower was barely a trickle and receptionist surly

Just not the same...
Liked: The hotel building itself is a beautiful place. The location and the views are stunning. Which hasn't changed greatly from our last visit.
Disliked: We visited here many years ago, and we were blown away by everything. The place, the food, and more so the warm and jovial Scottish welcome that made you feel at home. It's a rare treat for us to stay in a place like this, but sadly, on this occasion, we felt the service, the attention, and the food had truly diminished. The Scottish welcome we received previously was non-existent. We felt a little more like a number to be moved along than a guest at a four star hotel. The food was more like basic pub grub covered in a mass of garnish(rocket) compared to our previous visit where it was well presented, aesthetically pleasing, tasted amazing, and served with a smile and a welcoming attitude. Though the food tasted 'ok' in itself, and the service was 'ok', that's all it was, and for the price paid, you'd expect something special and not something mediocre at best. (The next day we ended up going to The Loft restaurant in Blair Atholl, which was amazing) You also wouldn't expect to have supplements added to the cost of some of the meals when the price is already high and £12 for a small glass of wine, which tasted like cheap plonk. It really saddens me to say those words for such a beautiful place, but that's how it was for us on this occasion. Sadly, it wasn't a patch on our previous stay.

Very relaxing and much needed...
Liked: Very nice stay. We were fortunate to get a room upgrade to junior suite. Beautiful views. Lovely walks in-and-around the hotel grounds. Staff were very friendly. Enjoyed use of pool facilities which were very quiet during our stay. Breakfast was excellent. Restaurant views were very good.
Disliked: Food and drinks were very expensive. While I enjoyed my evening meal, my wife’s choice was less appetising. Meals and wine were overpriced in my view. We decided to eat & drink in town on the second evening.
