The Spotlight on The Ashville Mews

Your Cosy Concert Base in South Bristol

Modern comfort meets classic charm at The Ashville Mews, a welcoming bed & breakfast tucked into the vibrant Ashton Gate area. Just over a mile from major venues like Ashton Court and under two miles from Bristol Temple Meads station, this B&B is ideal for music lovers who want easy access to the city’s buzzing live scene without sacrificing a peaceful night’s sleep. With its private garden, spacious rooms, and homely touches, it offers a calm retreat after an electric night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Location is everything, and The Ashville Mews nails it. You're just a short walk or cab ride from major gig spots, yet far enough to avoid the post-show noise. Thanks to free WiFi and a chilled atmosphere, it’s easy to unwind or stream your favourite tracks after a show. With check-in from 14:30, there’s time to settle in before heading out, and the 11:00 check-out gives you a relaxed morning after the night before.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for a shared base near the action
  • Solo travellers catching a must-see gig
  • Couples turning a concert into a romantic city break
  • Fans needing a quiet spot to recover post-show
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who want value plus comfort

Food and Drink Options

The Ashville Mews keeps things simple but satisfying. Guests love the continental breakfast, perfect for late risers after a big night. While there’s no on-site restaurant, each room includes a kitchenette with a microwave and kettle — great for midnight snacks or a cuppa before bed. Plus, the area has plenty of walkable pubs and cafes for pre- or post-show bites.

Nightlife Options

Located near Ashton Gate, you’re never far from local pubs, live music spots, and craft beer bars buzzing with fellow concert-goers. While The Ashville Mews itself is a quiet retreat, it’s just minutes away from Bristol’s thriving nightlife scene — ideal for those who want the best of both worlds.

What People Say

Guests rave about the cleanliness, comfy beds, and friendly service. Many mention the excellent location for events at Ashton Gate and praise the spacious rooms and good value. The garden and patio area also score high for those wanting a peaceful cup of coffee before heading out.

Areas for Improvement

It’s worth noting that this isn’t a full-service hotel — there’s no 24/7 front desk or bar. And while the kitchenette is handy, some travellers might miss a cooked breakfast option. But if you’re here for the music and not five-star frills, it’s a great pick.

The Bottom Line

The Ashville Mews is a cosy, well-located B&B that gives concert-goers the comfort they need without the downtown hassle.

Parking fine not worth it...

Disliked: I received a parking fine after parking outside the property, despite the promise that our parking permit would be activated. Efforts to resolve this issue by the owner have been painfully limited and it is still not sorted.

Great for the football ground

Liked: Well organised and had everything we needed for a one night stay. Was ideal for the football ground.
Disliked: No real temperature control in the shower but was an ok temperature anyway and maybe I just didn't work it out right.

Comfy, modern apartment with everything...

Liked: What an amazing little apartment! Very spacious and had everything I needed and more. Spotlessly clean. Loved the little bottle of milk to make my cuppa in the morning. Great location, close to centre but nice and quiet. Plenty of on street parking. Will definitely stay again.
Disliked: Hooks on inside of door for coats etc. would be useful. Dressing table stool legs falling off! WiFi not working.

Very good

Liked: We only stayed overnight so didn't spent much time there. The accommodation had everything you would need for an overnight stay. It was clean and cosy. Parking was good - plenty of space near the property. The owners were very quick at responding to our questions over the key number and parking permit.
Disliked: We weren't there long enough to not like anything.
