Clean but cold

Liked: Spacious room, clean, vintage style, they have elevator.
Disliked: The stuff we're not so friendly. At 11:03 they wanted to charge us for the coffee that was supposed to be free just because the checked out time passed 3mins. Also because we were a bit late to leave the room 11:10, they made a huge complaint. Of course I cannot be sure if this is a matter of culture as we are Mediterraneans and we behave differently if someone has a bit late checkout

Spacious and friendly hotel, great...

Liked: Very nice location. Interesting decoration and the staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. Loved the reception dog greeting us. It was simple to get in and out of main sights and plenty of places to eat and drink in the vicinity. We did worry about noise as room faced main road but never heard a thing! Breakfast was a very good spread and the ‘to go’ coffee was a great touch. Would like to stay longer next time as great value for money.
Disliked: Only that on returning Saturday evening from restaurant groups of Turkish young men were loitering around steps drinking and didn’t seem inclined to move out of way to let us in. But property itself and the staff were fantastic

Liked: The hotel was absolutely amazing. The staff was very friendly and super helpful. I arrived early after requesting to leave my bags until the room was ready but they already had the room ready so it was great timing. It was incredibly comfortable and so relaxing after several days of travel. I took a business card so I can remember to stay there again.

Disliked: We had a room towards the street on a Saturday which was pretty loud at night since this is the main party street of Cologne. Anyone booking a room here should know about this beforehand and ask for a room to the back.
