Really awful stay

Liked: Nothing!
Disliked: Wallpaper peeling off walls. Leaks in the ceiling at breakfast, collecting in buckets. The carpets stank like they hadn't been shampooed for years. We had to leave early because of the smell.No room in the car park when we checked in and only space was at the local tesco (where we didn't feel safe leaving the car overnight so we hardly slept.) Basically the worst hotel we have been to in 40 years of travelling.

Unpleasant room

Disliked: Room 150 was hot, smelt of chlorine, and was noisy. It was above the pool plant room, and it was impossible to sleep. You could feel the vibration in the room from the pool machinery or cleaning .

Liked: Great location, good facilities and friendly staff
Disliked: Check-in as a group is horrendous. The self-check in style is fine if it’s just you, but as a big group we don’t want to have to each go through this process. That’s what reception staff are for, to welcome you to a hotel and process you through check in.We probably won’t use this hotel again sadly

Poor value for money, not...

Disliked: Travelling for work, so needed car parking and availability to have evening at hotel - was told twice during stay that despite empty tables and being before the stated last ordering time that they couldn’t accommodate me. Reported maintenance issues which were not dealt with.Car parking is severely limited for the number of rooms - managed to squeeze into rear car park on first night but every night after had to leave in unsecured on street parking, which is poorly lit and not covered by CCTV. Also receptionist said car park system wasn’t great so make sure you put reg in each day as can often send you fines as it doesn’t register multiple days - great! Lift was out of order, but email didnt mention how many steps/doors are on each floor, wasn’t offered any help getting bags up to floor. Poor value for money for what I paid. No mention of loud music Friday and Saturday night in bar that went on till very late and could be heard throughout hotel.
