Excellent staff, just think the...

Liked: Staff were lovely. Location great for travelling around the area.
Disliked: we booked 6 rooms, every one of the the shower head would not stay in the upright position and the water just trickled out. food in the restaurant was not great. There were weddings on both nights of our stay, this did not impact on us other than maybe that is why the kitchen was under pressure.

Lovely stay in a clean...

Liked: Clean and comfortable. The staff were great. The food was fantastic, we had a great evening meal.
Disliked: Lots of stairs , no lift , hard going with suitcases .

Great staff and location but...

Liked: Staff were lovely and location great!
Disliked: The room smelt of grease(due to being above the kitchen’s) the cold water tap just spins so u have to push hard to try and get water out of it! Radiator in bathroom is filthy!!! No toilet roll holder just part of what used to be attached to the wall, Tv is tiny and old (yellow)and remote which was also filthy and yellow had no back on to cover batteries, the batteries looked all chewed up also! not even enough plug sockets unless u try and pull extension lead up from behind the bed. I get that it’s an old building but it’s so creaky! You can hear everything when someone passes your door and the doors bang.

Liked: Food was amazing had both breakfast and dinner and both great quality, good portions would definitely eat here again. Room lovely size, bath was a bonus, great views and excellent location for what we had planned for the weekend.
Disliked: Nothing, loved our stay would definitely come back again.

Won't be staying again

Liked: The staff were friendly and pleasant, and the location is great. There is an easily accessible bus stop where buses take you into Chester Le Street or Newcastle
Disliked: There's a poor choice of beer in the bar and the wine was unpleasant. The bedroom was small with 1 tiny window. The mattress is dead and needs replacing, and the addition of a plastic mattress protector makes for a sweaty night. There was mould around the shower, which also didn't drain.
