Liked: At the heart of Guildford City Center. Lovely building. Lovely staff.
Disliked: My bedroom only had ceiling shower head. But that’s only a mild inconvenience.

Ideally located, great room, quiet...

Liked: Ideally located in Guildford High Street. The room was big, as well as the bathroom (with tub and shower). Room was facing the side of the building and was very quiet.We had breakfast downstairs at Bill's which was very convenient as we had to leave early.Very charming building. We loved it and would come back anytime.

Disliked: Personal preference would be to have black out curtains/blinds. And as it was 31° it needed air con

Okay. Great location but not...

Liked: The location was ideal for central Guildford. Quirky but also a bit odd and a little run down in places.
Disliked: Odd in the fact a cabaret bar / club is situated in the guest area on the first floor which has non-residents coming and going and wandering about the hotel very late into the evening. Run down in places….corridors, staircase carpets and decor rather tatty and the carpet in our Suite (Dr Johnson) was somewhat tatty and marked as was the front of the sofa and desk lampshade. Could also benefit from air con in the rooms. It was absolutely stifling 28 degrees heat outside when we stayed and the room was baking hot. No fan provided but receptionist was very helpful when we asked for one and left it outside our room. No staff anywhere to be seen on checkout. Ended up calling the night porter number and was instructed to leave key card on the reception desk.
