A comfortable stay in Guildford...

Liked: The warm welcome from staff upon our arrival and willingness to take our luggage to our room. Having two bottles of water was greatly appreciated. The renovated bathroom a dream!

A Piece of History in...

Liked: It’s a lovely old coaching Inn we like places like that also the staff were very friendly and helpful will stay again when in Guildford
Disliked: There wasn’t anything to dislike 😻

Exceptional

Liked: The hotel is nestled in the heart of the old town, making it easy to reach nearly all attractions on foot. The staff is exceptionally kind and well-trained, always ready to assist with a smile in any situation. The hotel itself offers what could be described as a quintessentially English experience—steeped in traditional charm, yet seamlessly blended with the comfort and convenience of the modern day.

Nice elements but disappointing overall.

Liked: The hotel had great character and our room, 206 called the Lady Hamilton, had loads of space and had a comfortable bed.
Disliked: The main drawback for us was the noise from the high street. The room has no soundproofing and the noise from the high street on the Saturday night continued almost non-stop until about 5am. Then we had a brief respite until the street cleaning truck started at about 6am. Of course the hotel have no control over the activities in the high street but they need to address the sound-proofing issue or at the very least make guests aware. It may be that rooms in other parts of the hotel would be better but I suggest raising this before booking. Also, there was an issue with the radiator by the bed which whistled intermittently despite being turned off. It's a shame because the staff were great and it is a lovely building.

Liked: The reception staff was very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded unexpectedly as the room we had booked was not unavailable. The luxury suite was lovely with an extra lounge and a four poster bed.
Disliked: The television in the bedroom did not work. It would have been nice to have a fridge in the room.
