Liked: Have stayed at the Angel before and location to town centre excellent. Breakfast is good.
Disliked: The cost of my stay overnight was £120 in what was classed as a junior small double. Guests at the hotel are charged £12 per night for car parking in a very small car park but are not guaranteed to get a space. Anyone who was staying for longer than one night would add a considerable amount to their bill. I was attending a relative's funeral during my stay so needed to be local to the area.The room I slept in was on the third floor on the front of the hotel and was the equivalent of an attic room. It was very noisy from the road under my windows, vehicles sped down the one way system until approx 1.30 and started again at 4.30 am. Passers-by were very vocal at later times of night which could be easily heard through windows which did not appear to be double glazed. This is the second time I have been given the same room and were I to stay there again in the future I would make it a condition that I would not be using that room again nor any of the other rooms on that frontage. My brother stayed in another room along the same corridor that night and said he experienced the same noise problems.

Very dated and in need...

Liked: Excellent central location, lots of parking within the hotel courtyard. Lovely cooked breakfast .
Disliked: We booked 3 separate rooms (2 x Double and 1 x Twin) for our party of 5 and all 3 rooms were very dated and in need of complete refurbishment. The bathrooms, in particular, were awful, with brown stained grout and thick grime and mould and behind the bath taps. We had to stand in the bath to have a shower, but with such old and clunky taps, they were difficult to use and we were scolded by the very hot water. Very poor cleaning everywhere, the edges of the carpet were covered in thick dust. I wanted to make a formal complaint whilst at the hotel but as we were celebrating my daughters graduation we didn't want to spoil our time, but I will be making a full and formal complaint and will only accept a partial refund as a resolution.
